farewell

I bid farewell to what could've been,
to what can't be any longer.

a goodbye I did not once regret,
the things I couldn't ever forget.

I bid farewell to what we've been before,
to what we can't be anymore.

this is nothing more than a
"till life do us part"
the moral of a story,
the knife to my heart.
a hard truth:
there's no redemption for abuse.

so I bid farewell to who I could've been with you,
to who I don't wanna be anymore.

a sequel to the last poem - a farewell to toxicity, but more than that a hello to what's to come after.

annotation:
there's this song by Palace called "So Long Forever" which was kind of an inspiration for this poem too (such a good band!)
