paradise

it's not easy to believe -

but say even if one day we'll just dissolve
between millions of stars
in the night sky -
then we might as well be the fireworks
they will wish upon...

and while maybe one day our leaves will be cut,
then maybe we'll know how to grow again as the grass
it takes to form far fields,
for kids just like us
to play on.

what if azure blue skies are promised to us?
and I can sure see the sun's rays
that'll put us in a daze
and the rain to saturate us from the very root:
it's you! it's you! and I! and I!

I don't know much, but I
know how to breathe
the same air as the trees...
so what if somewhen in oxygen we'll be released?
if what we lose must be,
so we can become free -
in our each and every particle
and that maybe that's what it's about:

we're shaking the ground,
even now!
we break the earth in bloom
and unfold in foreign flowers,
in colours the world doesn't know yet...

and to whoever may break our wooden necks
we'll only light another match -
enflame our souls, ignite!
from our fire inside
that remains, stays alive -

and I can't quite explain how,
but I can feel we'll be just fine -

and that then even at night,

there'll be no such thing as darkness.

"born green we were to this flawed garden" ~ Sylvia Plath

(I adore this quote and I just think it sorta fits here:))

I guess writing this I was very inspired by Lana Del Rey again (not mad about it though :))  so there's a lot of references - mainly from her first album 'Born to Die'.

I figured somehow I rarely write happy poems, so definitely let me know how you liked this one in the comments :) <3

thank you so much for reading!

always,

xo, S🌹❤️
