hit and run

45 7 25

light me up,
snap me like a cigarette
just to dust off ash
and I could make you cough,
darling, if you care to crash -
then tear at your seams
as the fire of your dreams,
so go ahead and smother me.

snap you like a cigarette
just to dust off ash
'cause to snap out if it
is usually the best -
used to a game we call hit and run:
I'm here, you're here,
you're gone -
and whether you make me breath or choke
doesn't matter so much, 'cause I too am just as fleeting as your smoke -
so get me out of your pretty face,
unshoot you from my veins
and leave me free
and with no trace.
