unpredictable

indefinite, we're unpredictability
the concept of humanity.
thoughts with a capability
to form works of art
- paintings, music, poetry
never even running out of capacity.

uncertain, we're blurred and obscure
oh, how much could one person endure?
how delusory of me
to think I'd know about you,
seems like even you can't say you do.
even I must admit:
I embody unpredictability,
I don't think I fully know yet who I'll be.

but I believe in the person I want to become
acid rain falls,
forcing me out of my comfort zone
my jeans stained by grass,
my shoelaces have become undone
- but it doesn't matter,
if it's what it takes
to understand myself better.

I've come a long way,
infinite paths ahead of me,
catching memories is therapy
and I can't help but wonder about all this unpredictability.
it must sound crazy,
but I think I might not even grasp yet who I'll be.

out of all words in the english dictionary 'unpredictable' has got to be my favourite. I always loved how this simple word comprises everything yet nothing, all at once - it's fascinating.
Because of that I always wanted to write a poem about it and I'm actually happy at how it turned out, as it came together very spontaneously.
