streetlights

golden child, angel of tonight
won't you save me from the fire?
streetlights, some supplies, spinning tires -
heat up black tar
just to go so very far...
under wires, I see only the reflections in your eyes
and I bet, you too see nothing more in mine.

we carry pretty lies,
to go so well with our attire
and being honest what you just said
didn't sound so right,
so please just hush and kick the pedal and drive
another time,
towards the city lights

and smile -

'cause ain't it fun to romanticize?
