Daphne

Sitting on the beach, Mae notified me of Damien's return.

I wa too far out from the house to slip in without being noticed, but I still tried anyway.

I bolted toward the long ass steps that led to the house.

Damien met me more than halfway at the end of the steps.

He waved at me excitedly with his shirt sleeves rolled up.

There was no way out and I mean I did ask for tacos, it would be rude not to accept them.

"Daphne!"he yelled happily.

A smile stretched out on my face, but I quickly slapped it away.

Eventually Damien got to me with a big grin on his face.

"Why are you so excited?"I asked shielding my cheeks with my hands.

"Because I got to come home to you."he smiled.

I narrowed my gaze at him and my heart thumped against my chest.

I frowned at both my heart and his statement and asked,

"Is this how your usually are with every girl you meet?"

"This Damien is just for you Daphne, no one else."he said and offered the bag of tacos to me.

My heart thumped again with so much intensity and my chest warmed up.

What the hell you stupid heart, it's just Damien chill the fuck out!

I nodded and took the bag and decided not to reach too much into it.

"How'd you know I was down here anyway?"I asked and stared out at the ocean.

"Ty was worried you were having one of your untimely meltdowns again so he informed me."he said, rubbing the back of his neck.

I shook my head and walked towards the house with him by my side.

A strong cold wind current blew from the ocean and almost blew me away as well.

It was so embarrassing seeing me almost being carried away by wind.

Damien chuckled and I glared at him, he smiled in response and raised his hands.

That was when I realised I really loved Damien's smile, and it was killing me inside to admit it.

I stared at him a bit too long and I thought to myself was it really just his smile that I loved or...

"No," I said and slowly backed away from him.

There was no way!

"What?"he asked coming closer to me.

"Damien, stay away."I said calmly holding my hands out.
