Y/n's POV
Flashback Continued
A knock on my door followed by Bella's head peering in brought me back to reality, the sun having since set in the sky which was now decorated in a light orange with navy blue hues dusting over it.
"You ready?" She asked.
"Yeah." I replied sliding on my converse and grabbing my bag with my purse in to buy the flowers with. "Let's go." I ushered.
We all caught a bus into town managing to make it to the florist 15 minutes before they closed. Luckily enough. I purchased some lilies which were Sarah's favourite flowers. She loved the different colours they came in. Thanking the florist I walked out with them cradled in my arms as the three of us began our walk to the grave yard.
It was a quiet walk with the sky turning dark as night finally won its battle against the sunset sky. Cars passed by, their headlights blinding us as we walked. Bella and Edward walked behind me, their hands interlocked. Once again I found myself third wheeling what felt like a romantic walk rather than a sombre one.
After a thirty minute walk the graveyard was in sight, the three of us walking through its large black gates and quietly making our way to the grave labelled Sarah Jackson. I knew my way to the grave like the back of my hand, having spent many hours here before I moved to forks. As I was approaching her burial ground my step falters as I see who's standing by the grave.
Two people with their arms around each other, the smaller one resting their head on the taller one's shoulder who rubbed soothing circles on hers. Bella stood on a stick as she came to a stop behind me with Edward, both looking at me confused. Meanwhile the snapping sound that echoed throughout the quietness of the night alerted the couple at the grave making them turn in our directions.
Blue and brown eyes locked onto my own E/c ones. My breath caught in my throat as they stared back at me, eyes wide. I was frozen, mentally screaming at myself to do something, run away, hide behind Bella or something, ANYTHING. But I couldn't move.
"Mr and Mrs Jackson." Bella said, offering a small wave of greeting. The couple was already making their way over to my frozen self, soft smiles gracing their lips.
"Bella. It's so nice to see you. Y/n sweetie." Mrs Jackson said stopping in front of me. She reached a hand up to my cheek stroking it lovingly as she had always done. I flinched back into reality from my shocked state.
"I- S- Sorry we didn't mean to disturb you." I quickly stutter out.
"Nonsense. You are never a disturbance. We're actually happy you're here." Mr Jackson said resting an hand on my shoulder.
"We've been meaning to talk with you and see how you are doing. We didn't get the chance to before you moved to Forks." Mrs Jackson adds.
"Of course. Uh let's go take a seat over there." I led the way to a nearby bench giving Bella a look to ask for privacy to which she nodded dragging Edward back out the yard.
Sitting down on the bench slightly turned towards the parents of my dead best friends I sat stiffly upright with the flowers resting in my lap.
"Relax my dear there is no need to be nervous. We just wanted to see how you are. We heard you've been in a few accidents over the year you've been away." Mrs Jackson said, resting a hand on my knee.
"Lisanna here has been worrying day in and day out constantly messaging Rene for updates." Adam laughed heartily at his wife's actions.
I couldn't help the smile which graced my lips. These people were like my second set of parents, both holding tender places in my heart as I did theirs.
