Y/n's POV

Flashback ~ Sunday Night

The sun had set outside as I sat in the living room of the Cullens home waiting for my sister and Edward to return from their stroll in the forest. She was my ride here so unless I walked home I was kinda stuck here.

Not that I'm complaining, I mean after all I'm rather enjoying the soothing feeling of Carlisle fingers raking through my hair as I lay across the sofa, my head in his lap and eyes closed as I listen to the news reports on the TV.

Carlisle sits with his one arm holding the controller, stretched out along the top of the sofa and his free hand playing with my hair. His cold hands offer a soothing feeling to my scalp as he massages his fingers through my H/c locks.

Aside from Carlisle and I, Jasper and Emmett also sat in the room watching the news reports while Rosalie, Alice and Esme were off hunting. Emmett being the weird bear of a man sits on the top of the sofa with his feet resting on the cushions where his butt is supposed to be. Meanwhile Jasper sits, back straight as if he was tense, while staring what almost feels like holes into the TV.

I hear the TV increase slightly in volume as I open my eyes and smile up at Carlisle who looks down at me. I turn my head towards the TV. I start paying attention to the news report when the mention of recent attacks in Seattle is mentioned.

"Seattle is in a state of terror. Police are baffled by the escalating murders and disappearances.
Theories range from a vicious new gang to a wildly active serial killer. Reporting live..." The blonde reporter on the TV says, live from another drop location of dead bodies. I grimace as I look over at my sister who had entered the room arm in arm with Edward as the four of us already in the room were listening to the report.

"It's getting worse. We're going to have to do something." Carlisle says as he switched off the TV. I look up at him with furrowed brows.

"It takes more than one of our kind to cause the damage they're reporting. Quite a few more.
And they're undisciplined, conspicuous." Jasper says in an eerily quiet voice.

"It's newborns." Edward chimes.

"What, like new vampires?" Bella asks.

"In the first few months after the change." Edward's replies.

"That's when we're at our most uncontrollable. Vicious. Insane with thirst." Jasper says as I sit up next to Carlisle.

"Something to look forward to." Emmett chuckles looking at Bella. Seeing the look of discomfort on her face I grab a cushion from next to Jasper and toss it at the black head vampire. It hits him square in the face and I giggle. Carlisle wraps an arm around my shoulders laughing quietly as he kisses my temple.

He knew I was still uncomfortable with the subject of Bella changing but after several discussions I had somewhat accepted her decision. My relationship with her remained rocky despite that.

"No one's trained these newborns, but this isn't random. Someone's creating an army." Jasper says. It is now I realise why he was tense while watching the news. Sighing I reached over and patted him on the shoulder in hopes to offer him comfort.

"Well, now we're definitely going to Seattle." Emmett says excitedly as he jumps down from the couch.

"An army of vampires?" I said, pulling my hand back as I looked worriedly at the Cullens.

"And they've been created to fight someone." Jasper says looking at me as if to say they had no choice.

"We're the only clan even close to Seattle." Edward reasons seeing the look of concern I send them.
