Y/n's POV
Time was escalating fast, in the span of two weeks the Cullens had decided to go to Seattle to fight the newborns, I was attacked by Victoria, lost my virginity to Carlisle, discovered my best friend was still alive, witness my sister sprain her hand punching Jacob and now graduation was upon us.
I sat next to my sister who sat between myself and Edward. Alice had managed to get me into a dress on the compromise of me being allowed to wear converse's. The dress was thankfully black allowing the mustard yellow graduation cape to at least match to some extent. I bounced my leg anxiously as I listened to Jessica give her valedictorian speech.
The last two or three nights, I've barely slept, afraid my hard work at finals wouldn't pay off. Carlisle tried everything to ease my anxious mind but it was of no use. As Jessica came to the end of her speech I clapped, glancing over my shoulder and into the crowd where I saw Carlisle's golden brown eyes already staring at me.
He offered a reassuring smile that I meekly reciprocated. Turning back around I listened alongside everyone else, clapping every few seconds as students were called out of the crowd to come up and graduate. The Cullen children were some of the first, loud claps coming from certain people in the crowd. I myself was one of them.
As time progressed and names were called in alphabetical order Bella was soon called up onto stage with my dad standing and clapping loudly as I whooped her on from the crowd. I watched her shake hands with the principal, taking her diploma and having her five minutes of fame. I sat anxiously ready to stand when Bella came down and joined us.
In slow motion I watched the next diploma get handed to the principal and with a crushing wave of disappointment and failure I listened as he called upon the next student.
"Hank tucker." Loud cheers broke out for the boy, a ringing in my ear causing me to block it out. Again I stared wide eyed as I watched the boy take his diploma. When he came down off the stage and everyone became distracted by the next person, I stood up walking to the end of the hall and out into the corridor as I threw the graduation cap into the floor and ran outside.
There were a few stragglers outside in the main car park so I walked around the main building leaning against the wall, tucked away from their prying eyes as I felt my breathing become erratic. Tears fell from my eyes, my hand muffling the cries escaping my mouth.
'How could this be? I did everything I needed to to pass. I'm such a failure.' Thoughts clouded my mind, my vision blurred by the overflow of tears both shedding and pooling.
A cold touch electrocuted my cheek as I startled back, eyes clearing as Carlisle stood before me. His eyes reflected his sympathetic smile he tried to offer. I shook my head, tears continuing to fall as I threw myself into his chest. He didn't hesitate in wrapping his arms around me.
He shushed me, kissing the top of my head as I cried into his chest. We stayed like that till the hall began to empty and the car park began to full up with the happy voices of graduated students. Neither of us moved, his arms remained wrapped around me. The odd stray tear paved its way down my mascara covered cheeks every now and then but aside from that no sound came from either of us.
He knew nothing he said would make me feel better, he knew I needed to come to terms with the outcomes. So when Bella came running over to check upon her older sister he simply shook his head. Even when Charlie turned the corner, eyes widening at the sight of his daughter in the arms of the doctor, neither of us moved.
It wasn't till the car park was almost empty and Bella came back over did I pull away, eyes dull and full of disappointment. Carlisle pecked my temple before walking over to join his family, leaving me and my sister standing behind the school building.
