Chapter 4

*Nates Pov*

I opened the door and dad still wasn't home it was almost midnight what a surprise. Note my sarcasm. Whatever im not gonna let him ruin my amazing day.

I'm laying on my bed i just got home. I kissed her. I kissed Y/N. I finally kissed her. It felt right to have her lips on mine and to hold her in my arms. I want to ask her to be my girlfriend but I'm gonna wait for the perfect time. We're going too fast i know she knows it but it just feels right.

It was around 4 am when i heard someone stumble through the front door. I knew it was my dad and he was probably drunk. I went downstairs to check on him.

There he was with a beer on the couch.

"Dad you need to get up the couch is gonna fuck up your back" i said

"Nate I'm sorry. Im sorry I'm not a good father. I know you would've preferred your mother to be here instead" he's always so vulnerable in this state. He won't remember in the morning but i will and i don't want to listen to this again.

"Son you know it wasn't my fault. I was trying to save them i didn't want anything bad to happen to them"

"I know dad i know...you should go get some rest we'll talk about this when you're sober" i said

"No son i cant. I don't want to remember when i know i can because it will hurt more" i put his arm over my shoulder and helped him to his room. After he fell on the bed he fell right asleep. I set some water and aspirins next to his bed cus i know he's gonna wake up with a headache.

I went to get whatever i could of sleep. Its Sunday tomorrow or well basically today so no lifeguard duty. I'll probably go help Nina at the restaurant later. Sunday mornings are our busiest.

~8:00am~

I didn't get much sleep last night but I'm not gonna let Nina and Sam our other waitress alone during rush hour.
I changed got my longboard and made my way to the restaurant.
...
So i just got here and Nina was setting up the tables.

"Hey Nina how are you?"
"Im fine Nate. How's your father?"
"Well the usual he got drunk."
"Honey you know everything is really hard on him and he blames himself for what happened"
"Yeah i know"
"So when we close for breakfast i need you to stay because we have the interviews" she said. Oh no! What is she talking about.

"Um Nina. What interviews?" I asked
"You forgot. Im not surprised. But the restaurant is going really well and we need more help for the morning shift, the night is up to your dad"
"Oh. Alright i'll help."

~3:30~

We closed at 1pm and there are three girls here now with resumés and stuff. Violet, Jade, and Alex. We interviewed them individually, asked them typical work questions about experience and if they're okay with the hours and stuff. Jade and Alex seemed nice and descent but they lack experience and this maybe being their first job didn't convince Nina they were gonna be what she needed.
We were interviewing Violet now she was wearing a tight dress showing off her body and if you ask me she was wearing way too much make up. I hope Nina doesn't pick her. This girl was making faces and throwing hints at me i wanted her to leave me alone. This girl tries to hard, sure any guy would accept her throwing herself at them but she needs some self respect.

*sigh* I wish i was with Y/N instead. She's naturally beautiful she doesn't need make up at all. I hope i have time to see her today i haven't called her yet.

"Well thank you all for coming and we'll call you if you got the job" Nina said

"Thank you Nina. Bye Nate" ew she winked at me as she walked out.

"I think we should hire Violet, she has experience waitressing and needs a job to help out her mom"

"You really believe that? I don't know she just seemed so fake to me" i said

"We'll put her on trial and if it doesn't work we'll get somebody else"

"K I'm gonna go i have to make a call" i walked out of the restaurant and dialed Y/N's number

*ring*ring*

"Hello?" She said she answered at the 3rd ring
"Hey what's up?"
"Um nothing how are you?"
"Im good yeah. Are you okay?" I asked her she sounded kind of sad
"Yeah im fine im just kind of tired"
"Are you sure? Do you want me to come over?"
"No it's okay im just gonna take a nap"
"Um okay"
"Bye" she said and hung up. I could tell something was wrong and i wasn't gonna leave her alone at this time. I started making my way to her house.

I got here and i could hear her parents screaming i didn't pay attention to what they were saying but i saw a window open and Y/N walking around back and forth. I climbed the vine on the side of her house to get in through the window.

"Hey Y/N"
"Oh my god Nate!" She jumped i guess i kind of startled her. Her eyes were red and i know she'd been crying. I opened my arms and she ran to me, i held her tight and didn't want to let go. I didn't say anything in case she didn't want to talk about it and let my company calm her down.

We laid in her bed now, i had my arms wrapped around her upper body. Y/N looked up at me. I felt horrible seeing her like this i wanted to help her i ran my hand across her cheek and wiped a tear away. She leaned in and kissed me.

We started making out and now she was straddling me. My hands were roaming all over her perfect body and her hands were tangled in my hair. It was getting hot Y/N wanted to take of my shirt but I stopped her. I didn't want to go to far because i know she's vulnerable right now and also because i haven't asked her to be my girlfriend yet and if we want to take the next step i want us to be completely on the same page.

"What's wrong?" She asked

"It's just i don't want you to feel pressured in your state and do something you might regret" there was silence for a couple seconds.

"Thank you for being here for me and for caring for me it feels nice to be wanted for once"
"Hey I'm always gonna be here for you. Understand?" She nodded and i pecked her lips.

There was a moment of silence until she broke it.

"I just feel so lost" she said

A/N:

Aaaw Y/N is gonna open up to Nate. But are they going to fast? Will this hurt them in the future? What will they run in to?
