*Y/N's Pov*
-8:00am-
"Baby wake up" i heard someone say waking me up from my peaceful sleep. I slowly opened my eyes to see my amazing and super attractive boyfriend shirtless in jeans looking for a shirt to wear. We agreed to leave early since its a 6-hour drive from LA and thats not including the obvious stops we were gonna make for food and gas and stuff. We wanted to get to Napa early though so we would be able to have dinner with Nate's uncle. He was his mom's brother. I slowly stood up to go to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth.
"Wanna wear my hoodie?" Nate asked
I smiled and put it on. I loved wearing Nate's clothes they smelled like him and i felt protected.
"Okay I'm ready"
"Aight lets go"

"HOE SHUT THE FUCK UP!! I got way too much on my mental
I learn from what I've been through
I'm finna do what I didn't do

This whole time Nate and i have been singing along to Drake, Taylor Swift, 5sos, Justin Bieber and just a lot of music i have haha.
We've been driving for about 5 hours now and we stopped for a box of pizza. Its been so fun i love all these little moments with Nate, even though its nothing big i love just being with him and having fun.
"Well we still got a little over an hour till we get to my uncles house and i have a surprise for you babe" he said
"What surprise? Oh my gosh Nate you can't do this to me you're gonna give me anxiety cus i just want to know what it is"i said
"Nope you're not gonna know till tomorrow"
"Nate"
"Mhm"
"Ugh you're so annoying sometimes. Why'd you tell me you have a surprise"
"Haha calm down you're gonna get it just saying that tomorrow you're going horseback riding while i fix it"
"Alrighty"i said ending the subject because then i'd want to know more

*Nate's Pov*
"Uncle John! What's Up?!"
"Son! How are you?"
We bro hugged. I haven't seen my uncle in 5 years. The five years since...the accident.
"Where are the kids?" I asked
"They're out in the back. I'll call them in for lunch right now...and who is this pretty lady" he said referring to my beautiful girlfriend.
"Well Uncle John, this is the light of my life" i said comforting Y/n by rubbing her arms up and down. I know she's really shy while meeting new people but she's gotten better.
"I'm Y/N. Nice to meet you" she said
"Well the pleasure is all mine. Nate's like a son to me and i can already tell that you make him very happy. I mean just look at that big smile on his face-"
"Nate! Nate! You're here!" I heard. I turned around and saw my little brother and sister.
"Bella! Benji!" They both jumped on me and we fell on the couch. "I missed you guys"
"We missed you too Nate" Benji said.
Bella looked up and saw Y/N smiling at us. I've told Y/N before that my brother and sister lived with my uncle i haven't really told her why. I plan on telling her tonight though. I trust her with so many things and this is by far the biggest. I have the best night planned for tomorrow and i just need to open up more before we take things farther.

7:36pm
"It's so beautiful here" Y/N said.
"You're more beautiful babe" i said as i kissed the top of her head.
We were all the way in the back of the vineyard on a little pier i had built with my mom and uncle when i was little. I looked down. Talking about my mom brought nostalgia. I loved her so much. I know if she was here she would love Y/N.
"Nate what's wrong? You know you can talk to me about anything i'll always be here for you" she said.
"I know i could. Its just...i don't really talk about this"
"I wont pressure you if you don't want to talk about it-"
"The thing is, i do it's just when i try...i don't know remembering this, and remembering my mom its...i don't know. It's hard for me i guess"
"I know." She kissed my lips softly and it comforted me. "Whenever you're ready Nate i'll be here for you."
There was a moment of silence but i decided to speak up.
"My mom was in a car accident. There was a drunk driver we dropped off my dad at the airport for a business trip and it was raining. The guy hit her on her side. The ambulance came but when we got to the hospital it was too late." I felt a tear slip out and Y/N wiped it away softly and wrapped her arms around me. "Bella started having nightmares and my dad thought it was best if they moved here and had a new start. I lived here a while but i wanted to take care of my dad because he started becoming a drunk. I knew it affected him and he just never wanted to talk about it. Thats why i started taking care of the restaurant and Nina helped too." I continued.
"Nate, i know if i try to say anything it wont really help much but what happened happened. You cant go back and change the past and you can't blame yourself for not being able to do anything. Babe its not your fault your dads a drunk. He'll realize it soon. I know it hurts that Benji and Bella are so far away but you know its whats best for them. And if its meant to be and i know it'll happen your dad will get better and you'll all be able to live happy together."
Y/N's words were so comforting. Yeah i cant change the past. But, i can hope things will turn around for the better sooner or later. I got Y/N in my life right away thats a huge step towards the happiest life i could ask for.

I hope you guys like the book so far and yes Nate & Y/N will have sex but im a romantic so i want everything in place before that happens :).
