*Y/N's Pov*

~1 Week Later~

The nurse was helping me change into my regular clothes. I was so happy i was finally able to go home. I'm starting to get mobility on my legs, the therapy is helping. Nate hasn't left my side. I'm so lucky that he's part of my life.

Nate only left to shower and do his things while i was asleep. No matter how many times i told him i was okay he wouldn't leave my side until i was heavily sleeping. He even got my phone fixed.

"Okay Y/N you're ready to go. I'll tell Nate he can come in and i'll bring you crutches and your paperwork so you can be released." The nurse said

"Alright. Thank you so much for everything" i gave her a smile. I knew i was gonna do better now.

Minutes later Nate walked in.
"Hey babe" he said walking up to me and pecked my lips. "So i just talked to the nurse and everyday at 3pm i'll bring you to your therapy."
"Can we go for ice cream right now?" I said batting my eyelashes.
"Of course we can beautiful."

...
Nate and i went to coldstone and now we were sitting on a bench in a park.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Haha you've asked me this like ten times already."
"Hey i'm just a concerned boyfriend"
"Yes. And you're the best concerned boyfriend in the world."

"So i was thinking-" Nate started but got cut off by my phone ringing. I stared at my phone for a while trying to recognize the number. "Who is it?"
"I don't know, the number isn't in my contacts."
"Maybe you should answer it. It could be the doctor or someone"
"Yeah you're right."

~Phone Convo~
"Hello?" I asked.
"Oh my gosh Y/N. How are you doing? I saw on the news it was you that got in a hit and run"
"I'm fine" i said blankly.
"Are you still in the hospital? Can i come see you?"
"Why? Now you care?"
"I never stopped caring."
"Okay whatever."
"So is it okay if we meet up sometime to talk?" She asked and I couldn't tell if she was being sincere.
"You know i really don't know. I'm a very busy person." I said with a hint of attitude.
"Okay we'll i'll text you an address and you can go tomorrow if you want."
"Bye" i said and hung up.
~Phone Convo Ends~

I ran my hand through my hair and rubbed my temples in hopes of bringing down the unwanted frustration. Nate started rubbing my back and if he wasn't here i'd probably feel the need to cry.
"Are you okay?" He asked concerned.

I looked at him in the eyes and gave him an honest response. "I really don't know." I leaned my head on his shoulder and with the silence i tried to take everything in.

"It was Lizzy who called." I said softly breaking the silence.
"What did she want?"
"She wants to meet up. She saw i got in an accident and wants to talk."
"Do you want to?"
"I don't know. I know i want to tell her everything she did and how it affected me but i know she won't understand because she 'loves' Jacob. I know she's gonna end up twisting things and saying I'm the one who's wrong."
"Baby maybe you should listen to her side of the story."
"I tried. I really tried to see things from her perspective but i just can't understand her. She never tried to see things from my point if view though, i'm the one that got hurt and she moved on as if i never existed so i don't understand why she wants to talk to me now. Maybe it's because of my accident but I don't want her pitty."

Nate was comforting me and running his hand up and down my arm. "You don't have to talk to her if you don't want to. But if you decide you do i'll be there by your side."
"I don't want to see her" i said quickly.
"Maybe it's best if you do, and forgive her not because she deserves your forgiveness but because you deserve peace."

I was thinking about Nate's words. He was right, i'm the one that's been hurting over this whole mess for over a year now and Lizzy has just enjoyed her boyfriend. I deserve peace.
"You're right Nate." I said and he kissed the top of my head.

I got a text and it was from her. It was a Starbucks address to meet her at 11am tomorrow.

"I won't leave your side as long as you don't want me to." He said.

I gave him a reassuring smile and kissed his soft lips. I looked into his beautiful blue eyes. It's like he has the sky in his eyes.
"Have i ever told you that you're eyes are so hypnotizing" i said.
"Mmhm only a million times." He said. He cupped my face and kissed my lips again.

I always saw couples out and i always wanted what they had. They had each other and in each other they had someone who loved and cared for them in ways nobody else could.
I got lucky and got the best i could ask for.

We pulled away from our tender kiss and i smiled. Nate could always make me smile for no reason.
"I love you." I said.
"I love you too." He said and tucked a strand if my hair behind my ear.

*Nate's Pov*

I meant it when i said i won't leave Y/N's side. She needs me and i'll be there for her. And if i see the asshole of Lizzy's ex-boyfriend he's in for a beating. Not only did he fuck up a friendship, but he disrespected Y/N and no girl should ever feel or be treated the way they treated her.
