Chapter 17

*Jack's Pov*

I was sitting impatiently in the chair of my old apartment waiting for the call.
All of the sudden my phone rings.
"Is it done?" I asked
"Yes sir"

I hung up. My plan was going just the way i wanted. I got to LA around 3 weeks ago and received the worst news. My Y/N has a boyfriend.

Two years ago she fucked up my life. Now I'm gonna fuck her's up. I thought she would wait for me but, she didn't. I loved her. I still do. And nobody else can have her but me.

*Nate's Pov*

I've been in the hospital waiting room for two hours and i felt like i could die. Nobody has given me any news on Y/N. Why would she do this? How could this happen? It's all my fault. I should've stayed with her. I shouldn't of left her in that state.

As i was sitting there, thinking to myself i felt someone tower over me.
"Young man. You were the one that came in the ambulance with the girl from the hit and run, right?" A doctor asked me.
"Yes sir, yes thats me" i impatiently replied as i jumped up from the ground.
"Alright. She's stable now but we gave her some painkillers and treatments so she won't wake up for a while-"
"Can i see her?" I cut him off but, i can't stand sitting here not being able to be next to her.
"Yes you may, come with me" i followed the doctor to Y/Ns room.

I felt my heart drop from my chest when we got to her room and she was laying there on the hospital bed, seeming lifeless with cables all over her.
"I'll leave you here alone. I'll come back later to check on her signs" he said and walked out.

The second the door closed i started crying. This is what Y/N hates most about hospitals, all the cables and beeping noises.

"Baby I'm so sorry" i started. I sat down in the chair next to her and held her hand. "I shouldn't of left you, I didn't want to but I didn't know what to do, this is all my fault...But, you're gonna get better." I kissed her hand. "You're gonna wake up soon and i can fix everything. I promise i wont make stupid mistakes like that ever again. You know, the restaurants making good money, i can get us an apartment baby and you wont have to deal with your mom anymore." I sniffed. "You're gonna wake up soon and get out of here and i'm gonna make everything perfect for you baby". My eyes were all red and puffy by now. I rested my head on the bed holding her hand. I wasn't gonna move from here until Y/N got better.

...

It's been another hour and Y/N still hasn't woken up. The doctor walked in and started putting a different bag that transferred fluids into her body.
"What's different about those?" I asked.
"Well in the tests we made. She needs a lot of nutrients because of eating poorly but, with these she'll get more energy when she wakes up." He said. Then he started moving her to her side.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm checking her spinal cord, it's the most fragile bone that was hit and we saw something on the x-rays that's not supposed to be there"
"Will she be okay?"
"We need to wait until she wakes up so we can do some testing with her bones, we'll also give her a strict eating schedule because her malnutrition can lead to some serious disorders like anemia or bulimia"
I always told Y/N to eat better. She always ate so little it worried me, i never wanted to push her or annoy her after i told her to finish a little bit more. I should've been more attentive.

I rubbed my face and ran my hands through my hair. I felt awful.

8:26pm

I woke up suddenly. I swear i felt Y/N move. I checked the clock and its been another hour that passed.

I was right. She moved. She started lowly groaning like she was in pain.
"It's okay baby i'm right here. I'm gonna go call the doctor" i told her and went out the door. I went across the hallway until i found him.
"Doctor! My girlfriend, she's moving"
"Alright son, calm down. Let's go" he said and we started walking back to her room.

When we got back to the room Y/N had her eyes open and was looking around the room.
"What happened? Where am I ?"
"Sweetheart you're in the hospital, you were in an accident" the doctor said
"What's he doing here?" She asked referring to me.
"Well, you're very lucky to have him in your life. He hasn't left your side since he found you being transferred into the ambulance."
"I don't want him here. Get him out!" She screamed. Tears where streaming down her face and her words were tearing me apart.
The doctor gave me a sympathetic look. My eyes were getting watery I just wanted to be here for Y/N. I love her. Why is this happening?

I started walking back towards the door and Y/N turned her face so she wouldn't see me.
Once i was out i was so confused with my back to the wall i slid down to the ground and tried to think why she wouldn't want to see me.

I didn't do anything wrong that would upset her. Maybe it was too soon too see me after our break? A break I didn't even want. It was her choice.

I was the cause of her accident if I hadn't of left Y/N, if i had just stayed with her no matter how arrogant she got, she wouldn't be here right now.
