Claire pushed open the door of her apartment, stepped inside, then shut it close. Her eyes danced around the living room, which to her surprise, was in order. A complete contrast from what she had left.

Cat who was snuggled in her arms, peered his eyes open and studied the environment. Once he became aware of where he was, he snuck himself out of Claire's arm and dashed to one of the sofa's then sank on top of it. Claire chuckled at the feline before she tossed her bag aside then crashed onto a free sofa.

A small smile formed on her lips as her eyes danced around the room before she shut them close and grinned even further.

"Home sweet home" Just as Claire's mind was slowly clouded with fog and her body began to slip away, her phone vibrated in her pocket which quickly brought her back to full consciousness. She yanked her phone out of her pocket and stared at the contact ID with a smile on her face.

"Hey" Claire said once she picked the call.

"Claire!" Miranda screamed which made her shift the phone a reasonable distance from her ear and cringe at the pitch of her voice. Her smile deepened before she returned the phone back on ear.

"Hey, Miranda. What's up?"

"What is up is that you seem to not want to speak with your friends anymore"

"That and come to work" Gregory yelled from the background. A complaint quickly followed from Gregory, as he asked Miranda why she smacked his arm. She ignored his question before she set the phone back on her ear.

"Claire?"

"Miranda?"

"How are you? How have you been? Is your arm any better now?"

A realization struck Claire.
She had totally forgotten about her arm.

"It's much better, honestly" Claire said truthfully as she swung her arm around, just realizing the pain was gone "The pain killers they gave me sure works wonders"

"Well, I'm glad you're much better. So, that means we'll be seeing you soon, right?" Miranda said gleefully which made Claire chuckle.

"Definitely. I think I'll pull up at work tomorrow, if I haven't gotten fired yet that is. Considering how tardy I have been"

"Your job is still here, Sasha was pretty understanding to every excuse we brought to her. That and also, she still hasn't been here as often as she used to be. You know, recuperating"

Claire nodded then arched an eyebrow.
"Oh yeah, how are you? Any better?"

Miranda giggled "All patched up, baby. Feeling like I could attack a truck or something"

"Yeah, don't do that" Claire stated and she chuckled.

"Why can't you come over today though?" Miranda whined "There's still time"

"I just returned from my friends house and I won't lie..." Claire paused then yawned "...I'm beat, I need to get some rest"

"You do sound kinda tired" Miranda agreed.

Claire shook her head "You have no idea"

"Well, I'll leave you to it then. Gregory wanted to talk to you but aside from how much of a douchebag he is, he's actually quite busy at the moment" Claire chuckled.

"It's cool, send my regards to him"

"No problem. So, tomorrow?"

Claire smiled then nodded  "Tomorrow"

"Alright, bye"

"Bye" Claire said then set the phone down once she cut the call. She looked up to the ceiling and a toothy grin formed on her face as she played those words over and over again in her head.
