After Claire had visited Samantha in the hospital, she returned back to Roberto who commended her for "A job well done". After that, she was paired immediately with Sasha and given instructions, then the duo headed out to handle business.
The drive was silent. An uncomfortable and eerie silence.
Claire didn't need to guess why she felt uneasy being in the same vehicle as Sasha because it was pretty obvious.
One, she was a murderer. It hadn't been too long ago, she witnessed the lady walk into a room with a severed head on a platter and also, slowly torture a man without as much as a draw back from what she was doing.
Sure, Claire had killed before but she was no monster like Sasha.
And, two...
The mask on her face made her look pretty scary.
The long and eerie silence was broken by Sasha's sigh which caught Claire off guard.
"Why are you scared?" She asked and Claire's head shot her direction.
"What?"
"Your body language, you're stiff. Showing obvious signs of fear. Why?"
Claire's pupils almost widened but she quickly masked her shock.
"How did she noti-?" She thought to herself before she cleared her throat and shrugged.
"No reason"
"Are you scared of me?" Sasha asked which made Claire turn to her then look back at the road.
"No. I'm not" She lied which made Sasha chuckle.
"You are scared. Why not just admit it? You think I'll hurt you for saying the truth?"
Claire remained silent and Sasha sighed.
"It is normal for people to fear me. Especially when they have seen me, well do things. But, you have no reason to fear, Claire Williams. We are not enemies, and as long as Roberto says so then it most definitely will stay that way"
"So, if he says otherwise you'd hurt me?"
She thought to herself with an arched eyebrow before she spoke.
"Thanks, I guess?"
"You're welcome" Sasha responded and the drive continued.
After a couple of minutes, they arrived at Thrombus street. The entire area seemed to be nothing but a birthplace to dilapidated structures and livelihoods. The further they drove, the more darker and ghetto like the environment became.
Claire's eyes landed on a couple scenes, from a bunch of kids who didn't look old enough to even be out by themselves, smoking. Some ladies hopping from car to car to get their next "clients" , and som men fighting each other for a gamble gone wrong.
Everything about were they where screamed "hood" and "straitened circumstances"
Sasha eventually parked at a spot, not too far from a run down building then turned the car off. A bunch of men stared at the car and began to converse between each other. Claire took note of it while she stared at them.
"Block 9" Sasha said. Claire turned from the men outside to where Sasha's gaze was directed
"Let's go" Sasha said and they both stepped out of the vehicle. Once their feet hit the concrete, the men signaled each other then began to head towards the ladies.
Claire was quick to read what was about to happen which made her lean onto the car to speak to Sasha.
"I think we have a problem" Claire said and Sasha looked behind her to find the men approaching them.
