The door of Claire's apartment swung open before she stepped inside tiredly. Cat dashed out of the kitchen and lunged himself at Claire who laughed happily as she caressed the feline.

"How are you buddy?" He meowed in response and she beamed. He reached for Claire's thumb and tried to nibble at it and she laughed at it's continuous attempts with no succession.

"You're hungry, aren't you?" Claire sighed then placed him on her shoulder "Me too" She led them into the kitchen and headed straight for one of the cupboards. She opened it and pulled out one of the many mini sacks of kitty snacks she had stored inside and placed them inside the cats bowl.

As she set it down to the ground he hopped down and quickly attacked his food. Taking each bite with heavy desperation like it had been eons since his last meal. After a few more bites, he walked towards Claire, rubbed itself on her leg and purred which made her smile.

She bent down then pet his head "You're welcome, buddy" He pushed himself into her hand to rub himself further before he stopped and went back to his meal. Claire smiled then stood to her feet with a sigh.

"Okay. What the hell am I gonna eat?" She stared at her kitchen as she tried to find anything that would meet her need of satisfaction. She opened her fridge and ransacked around, but couldn't find anything.

Well, she did find items she could eat but they all had to be cooked, and she was too stressed to the bone and aggravated to give any of them a try.

So, she settled for a takeout.

"Yeah, a whole bag of chicken wings, French fries, and a box of doughnuts. Oh, with a milkshake too" Claire said then crashed down on her sofa, she picked her TV remote, turned the TV on, and stared at it as the vendor from over the phone spoke to her "Yeah, I'd like jelly in my donuts"

"How much?" She asked as she switched the channels "What? Because of the jelly or the French fries?" She paused then frowned "Fine, no French fr-" She paused again and gave it a thought then sighed "Yeah, no French fries"

"Yup, that'll be all. Yeah, sure" She set her phone down with a sigh and stared at the TV.

She was exhausted.

The burial was an hour of wallowing and depression that Claire found very uncomfortable.

She understood the reason behind the wailing and the heaviness the atmosphere carried but still, that didn't make her feel any less better.

Claire had never attended a funeral, not even that of her parents when they died. And, that aside, she was never the emotional type. So, while people would tear up or break down in certain situations, Claire was quick to pick herself up, if she ever fell down to the ground, that is.

So, there was a small hint of disgust that hung around her by how everyone behaved.

"Come on, Claire. They lost someone important to them" She muttered to herself and stared hard at her TV, trying her best to destroy the demeaning thoughts she carried about them.

She was able to clear the demeaning thoughts out of her head but then, another thought swooped in which she also tossed under.

Daniel's stop before they left for the burial.

Once Daniel had driven out of the manor's estate. He drove over to a pharmacy close by. He had told both ladies that he wanted to get some Oreos and got out to do just that. He took quite a decent amount of time and just when Claire was about to go inside to find out why he was taking so long, he got out with a handful of grocery bags.

"What took you so long?" Claire had asked as they got into the car and he smiled as he opened a bag which contained nothing but the delicious black cookie.
