What Secrets Lie In The Rain?

Claire pulled the mafia member who had a chokehold on the enemy and led him away from the gunshots. The duo rolled down the stairs then crashed down to the ground but quickly recovered.

"Thanks" The guard said genuinely and Claire smiled then shook her head.

"Don't mention it"

They all scattered themselves to different positions at the sound of approaching footsteps with their backs glued to some kind of shield.

Claire watched the guards instructed to the kitchen marching towards them and shoved her hand forward, signaling them to not come further.

Claire poked her head from the couch she hid behind and found men hopping down the stairs and into the living room. Their eyes trailed around as they searched for their preys while they reloaded their weapons. Claire pulled herself back behind the couch and found one of the mafia members with his hand wrapped around something.

She inched closer then cocked her head backward in disbelief.

"Is that a-"

"Flash bang" He completed right before shots began to scatter around the room, which sent a mixture of dust and wood shavings around Claire and the mafia member.

"Then freaking use it" Claire yelled and he nodded, quickly pulling the pin from the top.

"FLASH BANG" He screamed, tossed the flash to the middle of the room, then shut his eyes close along with Claire. In a matter of seconds, there was a loud bang which indicated that it had been activated.

"Come on" Claire yelled and her along with the mafia member quickly stood to their feet then shot at the men, whose eyes were still trying to adjust to what had happened. The bullets flew free through their bodies, sending them down in groans and cusses.

The loud sound of rain and the alarm followed after the bellow of gunshots had settled. Each person peaked out of their designated position to see if everything had been handled, to which it had.

"Everyone good?" Claire asked and got favorable responses from everyone.

"I'm not" Adrian shouted and Claire turned towards his position, watched as he shook from where he hid himself, and laughed. She strolled to where he was then stretched her hand out to him which he quickly took before she helped him up on his feet.

"You thought it was gonna be like the movies, huh?"

"My ears hurt" Adrian said with his palm pressed to his left ear. Claire shook her head in negation with a chuckle before she turned to the men they had shot down.

"You can always go back to the car if you can't keep up" She said then gripped her gun tightly with a sigh once her eyes landed on the bodies. She walked up to them along with the mafia members.

They all stared down at the dead bodies before Claire bent down and began to rummage their pockets. She pulled two phones out then stored them in her pocket before she turned to the mafia member who hid beside her.

"Got another flash bang?"

He pulled out another from inside his jacket and Claire nodded before she snatched it out of his hand.

"Come on" She said to which they nodded and followed behind her. Except for Adrian who sat on one of the sofas as he continued to press his ears.

They walked up the stairs again and stared down at the corridor. There were four doors, two on one side, one on another, and one in front of them.

"Safe to say that there are still people in each room" Claire thought to herself before she turned to the men.

"We're gonna split ourselves into each room. Three persons per room" The men nodded "Does anyone else have a flash bang?"
