5 DAYS LATER
Claire stared at her phone with a blank expression on her face. Her eyes danced around the article that displayed on her screen before she scrolled back up to a collaged picture of Benson Adkins and Ambrose Nunez with the title of the article boldly written above which stated;
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST:
ChickLit Manager Loses Another Business Partner.Claire sighed as she already knew that Roberto had something to do with it. That, and also every single misfortune Adkins had faced prior to this day.
After the attack on the Saint Parish building, Roberto wasted no time to strike even harder at Adkins. Which immediately costed him, the very next day, his sponsorship with Redville, a multi-millionaire dollar fashion company that doubled as a partner for Adkins and stylist for the girls.
Then after, Mor's, a restaurant for the rich and famous, who signed an endorsement deal with Adkins worth millions to promote their unreleased drink, Marbella, cancelled the deal and said they would no longer work with him.
Then after that, the ChickLit were buzzed off almost every event they were supposed to perform and were instead replaced with Roberto Gonzales, a Mexican musician.
And, a day before Ambrose Nunez cut ties with Adkins. Camara Khan, one of Adkins most prolific investors in his gym supplement business stated that she would no longer work with him.
While all this was happening, Claire wondered how Adkins still hadn't found out nor reacted about the released girls. How or (why) Roberto only kept releasing info to just his investors, and, how he was able to keep their mouth's shut to the rest of the world.
While she also tried to find a way to get back into the case. She had tried to wait it out and see if the hunger would die, that way, she would just go back to living her normal life in peace, but her body seemed to yearn for adventure and not comfort.
After two days, she realized she could no longer sit around while so much was happening concerning the case and tried to find her way back into it. Unfortunately, every single piece of information amongst other things she needed to get one step ahead of what was going on, was only available to her in the first place because of Roberto. So, she had nothing.
And, Daniel who claimed he would keep her informed, didn't.
"Bitch" Claire muttered to herself as she was reminded of Daniel's failed promise. She stared at her phone with a sigh before she set it down then sank into her seat, her eyes peeled to the ceiling.
Ever since Roberto began to clap back at Adkins, Claire couldn't help but feel worried. It wouldn't take an idiot to notice that there was a connection around all that was suddenly happening to Adkins. Even if people were clueless and couldn't see the link, he would.
But despite that, he seemed to be awfully quiet.
She would check his social media handles regularly and found that he would always make a very mature comment concerning any of the people who had severed their ties with him.
"...Regardless, I'm grateful for the opportunity I was given to even work with you in the first place"
"...I apologize if I wasn't able to live up to the standard that was required. If I'm ever presented with another opportunity, I'll do better"
"...Camara Khan is and still will remain a dear friend to me, and nothing is going to change that"
"...Nunez is a brother, this just a set back that will be handled correctly"
