Losing Tyler

Claire and Tyler walked into an empty parking space. Their eyes danced around then landed on each other when they found no witnesses around.

"What's wrong?"

"Tyler, I can't do this anymore" Claire said.

It had been four months.

Four months since Tyler confessed to his sister how he and his colleagues got their hands dirty. Four months which unfortunately, Claire had been forced to work in the system with them.

For those four months, Claire had been part of money laundering, possession of evidence to keep Adkins in the clear for his crimes, amongst other things.

And, even though she didn't necessarily work for Adkins directly, she still did a whole lot that helped his enterprise.

At first, she was able to do as she was told without much of a hassle. Due to the fact that the victims of Adkins crimes were mostly criminals like him.

But, things had taken a different turn and the sliver of patience she had held on to for those four months to not snitch on the team was completely gone.

"Claire..."

"Lana is dead, Tyler. Lana and Tasha are fucking dead"

Lana was part of the detectives who worked closer to Adkins. She was responsible for the arrest and conviction of one of Adkins rival. Nanami Suguru, a triad boss who she framed for a crime he did not commit. The punishment for his "crime" was death.

Unfortunately, Lana couldn't cover her tracks well enough and was found by the triad members who hacked her along with Tasha who had come to visit to death.

"I know, Claire. I kn..."

"How long do we have to wait before it's our turn? Last month, Johnny got killed by Adkins rivals too, and now this. Aren't you worried?"

"We just need to make wiser decisions and cover our tracks properly, okay? You can't leave now. It's too early"

Claire stared at him, completely bemused before she shook her head "Four months isn't too early for me, I'm done"

Claire said then turned around. Her eyes widened as they landed on a gun which was pointed directly at her.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't help but overhear your conversation" Juliana said which made the man next to her smirk.

"Juliana, what the hell is going on?" Tyler asked which made her chuckle.

"What do you think?" She asked and a click from her gun followed "We're handling business"

"You remembered the deal we made, right? You either get her to shut her mouth or we shut it for her?" The guy next to Juliana, Charlie, spoke.

Tyler had told the team some months in about how Claire would constantly come up to him to tell him she no longer wanted to participate in all that they did. Some felt that she just needed time to adjust while others feared she would rat them out if they didn't get rid of her.

Juliana who represented the latter made a deal eventually with Tyler along with others that the day she no longer wanted in they would have to kill her. Tyler, unfortunately agreed to this deal because he thought he could convince Claire to comply.

Tyler frowned "She just wants out, okay? She isn't going to tell anybody about what we're doing, I promise"

Juliana snorted "Can she admit that though? Right here and right now, so that she can live?" She asked which made Claire ball her fist.
