Chapter 49

Months had passed and our ship is sailing smoothly. Mas lumaki ang tiyan ko at ang sabi pa nga ni Kuya Carson ay para na raw akong kumain ng sampung pakwan. Well, malapit na rin akong manganak.

Gunner did everything just to prove to me that he loves me. He stayed by my side, seemed like he is not planning on leaving me behind. He prepares foods for me, often stays up all night just to watch over me. Well, my weird cravings came back again kahit na malapit nang lumabas si baby.

Just like tonight. I woke up when I suddenly craved for an ice cream. It's always an ice cream. And pizza. Yes. A pizza. I want an ice cream and a pizza.

"You want ice cream?" Gunner asked me.

His bedroom voice is just something I cannot ignore. As usual, he is watching over me. He was even smiling like the sight of me waking up in the middle of the night tickles the hell out of him.

He always looks excited. Damang-dama ko iyon sa tuwing nagigising ako sa kalagitnaan ng gabi.

"And pizza," I told him.

He kissed my forehead before guiding me down the stairs. When he gave me chocolate flavored ice cream and pizza, I started eating it. I dipped the slice of pizza on the chocolate flavored ice cream.

When I looked at Gunner who was staring at me while grimacing at the sight of me, I raised my brow.

"What?" I strictly asked him.

Still grimacing, he asked, "I wonder what's the taste of it. I mean, an ice cream on top of err-pizza."

I offered him my food. "You want some?"

He was fast to shake his head. "No, wife. Thanks."

I finished my food at siya naman ang nagligpit.

"Hmm, let's go out tomorrow?" aya niya.

"The place?"

"Let's visit K&T."

Umiling ako. "Not in the mood to go there."

"Perfect. I wanna show you something."

"Something like what?"

He winked at me. "It's a secret for now."

I rolled my eyes and we both went back to our room.

When the sun rose, we took a bath together and dressed up together. We used his car to go to somewhere only him can familiarize. I didn't ask him about it because I am aware that he wants to show me something.

We did some swerving and swerving until we stopped right in front of a freaking coffee shop. Lumiwanag ang mukha ko at tiningnan ang asawa ko.

"You love coffee," he noted.

I winked at him. "And you."

He bit his lower lip. "Damn, woman. You're at it again."

I laughed at him. Hindi pa talaga siya tuluyang nasanay sa akin.

He got off of the car and helped me get out. Kaya ko namang gawing mag-isa iyon dahil buntis lang ako, hindi baldado. Sadyang ang arte lang nitong si Gunner at halos ayaw akong pakilusin nang ako lang mag-isa. Kung puwede lang na buhatin niya ako araw-araw ay ginawa na niya.

Tumingin ako sa ibabaw ng coffee shop at nakitang No Escape ang pangalan niyon. Ang taray. No escape.

It's a fine coffee shop. Ramdam na ramdam mo talagang nasa isang coffee shop ka dahil nasa labas pa lang, naaamoy mo na ang aroma ng kape. Hindi matapang sa ilong. Sa katunayan, nakakahalina iyon.
