XIAFEZIN ROZE'S POINT OF VIEW

Ngumisi ako sa namumutlang mukha ni Kanika. I can feel the fire building up in me. Xia is asleep, right? But why am I feeling her rage so strong that I feel like I'm about to eat Kanika alive. Nothing about this pleases Xia.

Nothing.

"M-Maybe we should just wait until her work is done, Roze?" rinig kong maliit na boses ni Luna sa likuran at sinubukan akong hawakan.

Siya lang ang naglakas loob na bumasag sa katahimikan sa gitna ng gulat ng lahat.

"Saka mo na lang siya tanongin tungkol kay Aedaie kapag tapos na ang—"

"No! You heard her, Luna! She's not gonna tell me anything unless it's part of her job to answer to me!"

Kaonting-kaonti na lang, sasabog na ako. I came here out of desperation, hoping for a sensible response from her, but she's so good at messing up everything. Maybe at some point I was wrong for not considering her busy schedule, but...really? She's a bitch and that's just it! I've been reprimanded with so many seniors during my time but never did I once get insulted like this, on purpose!

"I warned you, didn't I?"

Napatingin kami sa nagsalita. It's Cadelaria again and her cigarette. Nasa pinto siya at nakasandal, prente kaming pinapanood gamit ang tamad na mga mata.

"She will not help you at all. She's just not that kind of person."

"How did you pass to my securities?" Kanika snapped to her.

"Guess how?" Cadelaria chuckled and puffed from her cigarette again. "I beat them up."

Namilog ang mga mata ko at napasulyap sa labas kung saan nakahandusay na ang mga bodyguard. Nagawa niya iyon lahat nang hindi man lang namin namamalayan.

"You know that smoking is not allowed here. Get out!" sigaw ni Kanika.

"That's weird, coming from you. Since when did you learn to follow rules, Ika?"

Hindi sumagot si Kanika. She only looked at Cadelaria indifferently.

"Do you already know Kanika's dirty little secret?" tanong bigla ni Cade sa'kin.

Humakbang agad si Yassi palapit sa kaniya. "No. Cade, please—"

"What, Iya Lakeisha? Are you stopping me from telling her the truth?"

Kumunot ang noo ko at napahakbang. "What truth?"

"Not now," agap ni Zayden na parang may alam siya sa sinasabi ni Cadelaria.

Tiningnan ko ang lahat. Namutla lalo si Kanika. Even Luna looked alarmed about what Cade just said. What is this?

Bakit parang ako lang ang nalilito?

"Of all the times, this is the best time for her to know the truth. For her to know who made her life a living hell."

"Kanika...was born with a different face. She saw you in her mystical mirror and wished to possess your beauty. Guess who granted her wish? Aside from the mirror of fate, Aedaie was part of the crime."

I froze. Hindi makapaniwala sa binunyag ni Cadelaria, hindi ako nakaimik agad.

Kung totoo itong naririnig ko, ibig sabihin, totoo ang sinabi noon sa'min ni Mi Aohma...tungkol kay Kanika?

Na...hindi iyon ang totoong mukha nito? Na...ginaya lang ako?

"Cade!" tawag ni Kendall na parang inaawat din ang kaibigan sa gusto nitong sabihin sa'kin, pero bakas sa mukha na nagdadalawang isip siya.
