THE INSIDE OF THE C.D.C. building was astonishing to look at. Just like it looked on the outside, the inside stretched high above their heads. Juliette had to crane her neck back to see the roof. A wide smile presented it's way onto her face, and it was like all of her worries washed away. It looked used and messy, but it didn't look like someone was living here.

Until the sound of a gun cocking brought her out of her happy go-lucky state. A man, who looked just as frightened as they did, stood with a gun pointed directly at them. He looked like a normal person: grey shirt and black jeans, middle-aged. Didn't look like a threat.

"Anybody infected?" the unknown man asked, looking between their group. Jules looked at Rick out of habit, waiting for him to speak for them.

"One of our group was," Rick explained, sweat heading down his face nervously, referring to Jim. "He didn't make it."

"Why are you here? What do you want?" the man questioned pointedly, timidly stepping towards them slowly.

"A chance." Rick kept his gun shakily directed at him.

He stepped even closer, his firearm no longer pointed at them. "That's asking an awful lot these days."

"I know." Rick swallowed nervously, silently begging for this anonymous man to take them in.

The man looked between everyone in silence, while they stared back at him fearfully. Like he was about to pounce on one of them at any second. Jules gulped down the lump in her throat, internally pleading alongside Rick.

"You all submit to a blood test," he said, narrowing his eyes to see their reactions. When no one argued, he continued, "That's the price of admission."

An opportunity to live in this nice, sheltered place with probably a lot of food stored up? And with running power? Jules would do a whole lot more to get in.

"We can do that," Rick told him without a second thought. That's when the man completely lowered his gun, it hanging in one hand by his side.

"You got stuff to bring in, you do it now." He began walking over towards them quickly, while Rick turned around and began running back towards the door. "Once this door closes, it stays closed."

Rick gathered up a few of them to run back out to get their supplies, with Jules being one of them, until Shane said otherwise. She stood there tensely next to Carol, feeling more useless than usual as Glenn came back in running.
