chapter ten. enclosed﹙season one, episode six﹚

WARM WATER DRIFTED DOWN her body, making her shudder in delight. The warmth of the liquid spouting from the shower head felt nice for a change. It had been a long time since she had gotten a proper shower, and it was long overdue. She scrubbed her hair with the nice vanilla-scented shampoo, dragging her fingers through the endless knots in her hair. Juliette could see the dirt and blood pool at her feet. She doesn't know how long she spent just brushing her hair.
Her lips widened when she no longer felt any knots in her hair, forming a wide smile. A huge smile she hadn't smiled in a while.
Jules wanted to lose herself in the feeling of the warm shower getting into the cracks of her hair and body, but since she was now clean, there wasn't a reason to stay. Especially since Jenner had told them not to go ham on the hot water.
Twisting the nozzle of the shower and turning it off, she stepped out of it and wrapped herself in a cozy towel. She sighed with relief, tugging it closer to her body with closed eyes.
Her eyes slowly blinked opened, smile quickly fading. Her legs gave out, back sliding against the shower's tiling until she settled on the floor.
Where was Rory? Where was her mom? Did they have access to these warm showers, or were they forced to bathe in cold water like she had been?
She regrets going to Atlanta with Shane so easily back then. Virginia was so far away. Too far away. No one would make the journey there easily without a good enough reason.
Jules didn't fight not staying with her mom and Rory. She beloved it was best given their financial situation. Though, if she knew what the world would come to, she wouldn't give a second thought to be with Rory.
But, if things went into a different direction, and she stayed with them, would she still be alive and breathing this far into the End?
Reluctantly, Jules shakily stood up, getting fresh clothes on and wobbling to her respective room.

JULIETTE GROGGILY TRUDGED TOWARDS the kitchen and dining room, not quite ready to see anyone. She rubbed her tired eyes, hoping she'd be one of the first ones awake.
Her hopes were crushed, because everyone but Shane was sitting around the table, just as they were last night. She heaved a sigh, pausing before she sat down in an empty seat next to a groaning Glenn.
