A PARTY, IN THIS day and age?People held colorful cups in their hand, banners streaming from above them. "All right! Hey." The Governor stood atop the stairs leading to the main building. "First time we gathered, there was nine of us holed up in an apartment with Spam and saltine crackers. Well, look at us now. We've built a place we can call home. May be held together by duct tape and string, but it works. It's ours. I'll take it. So today, we celebrate how far we've come. We remember those we've lost. We raise a class . . . to us!"
Scout had been stuck with Andrea for the day. Michonne had disappeared off somewhere, and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't slightly hurt by her not bringing him with her. Something about going through the Governor's things and getting their weapons back so they could finally get the hell out of here.
Andrea smiled up at the Governor, who stared back at her from up on his perch. He then left, towards his home. Scout watched his every move before he was gone, a worried feeling settling in his stomach.
A lot of time passed before Michonne came barging out of those doors, katana settled on her back and Scout's gun in her front left pocket. He beamed when he saw his gun, racing over towards the woman.
His happy mood dissipated when he sensed her bad one. Her face glowered, and she didn't even acknowledge him. Instead, she briskly marched to their little hotel room. Scout followed closely behind her.
He shut the door behind them, giving her a crazed look. "What was that all about? What happened back there?" Michonne ignored him, piling her stuff together.
"We're leaving," she curtly said, not looking up at him.
Rolling his eyes, he responded, "Yeah, couldn't tell." She shot him a sharp look as if to say I'm not in the mood as soon as the door behind them opened, revealing their other roommate.
"We have to talk," was the first thing that came out of Andrea's mouth.
"We have to go," Michonne expressed, throwing her clothes in her bag. Andrea sighed, leaning against the door with crossed arms.
"The Governor told me what happened." Great, so Scout was the only one who doesn't know? That never happens. "Michonne, you can't do things like this. You're freaking people out. You're freaking me out."
"The northeast wall is guarded by some girl. We can escape there after dark." Scout had an odd urge to let out a small cheer, but decided against it, because it didn't exactly seem appropriate considering their circumstances.
