WHEN SHE HAD GONE, she didn't think it could have gotten any worse. She figured, as silly as it sounded, that time would postpone at the prison when she wasn't there. Unlike she believed, when she returned, it was like a tornado had swept through. A tornado that had wiped out more of their people. It felt like all the hope she had left crumbled as Hershel broke the news to her. Caleb, the one keeping everything going, had succumb to the illness. And then, he met his end.

The fence had fallen the night before they got back. Dozens and dozens, almost reaching the hundreds, of walkers had gotten in. Rick and Carl, being the only ones left to fend the prison off, had killed them off. On top of that, all hell had broken loose in the medical wing. Jules didn't get the full extent of the details, only the part where both Sasha and Glenn were sick, and that Scout had been fine.

Her chest heaved, her back wet from sweat as she helped Michonne move the now totally dead bodies of the walkers. "You can take a break, you know." Michonne appeared out of thin air behind the girl, almost making her jump. Jules gave her a look, as if telling her she wasn't, before she made her way over to the water bucket to splash some water on her face. Her path connected with Rick, who looked worse than he had in a while.

Jules ignored the look he was shooting at her, because she knew he wanted to talk to her about something, but she didn't want to talk to him. She knew it was bad news, since he has that sorrowful look on his face. She was all bad news-ed out. However, Rick didn't seem to catch the memo, blocking her path.

"There's something you should know," he said in that same hoarse way, staring into her eyes. Jules sighed, throwing her hands up, knowing she couldn't get away.

"Shoot," she mumbled, crossing her arms expectedly.

"It was Carol," he answered ominously, causing the teen to raise her eyebrows with confusion.

"Huh? What was Carol?" She dropped her arms, squinting both from being lost in the conversation and from the sun beaming down on them.

"She was the one who murdered them. Karen and David." It took Jules a second to connect the dots as to what he was talking about. Then, she remembered what occurred a few days prior. Someone had killed and then burned two of the sick: Karen and Charlie. Their reasons were unknown, as was their identity, but Jules had a clue as to why they did what they did. They hoped it would stop the spread of the illness, but it didn't do anything. Too many people had already been exposed.
