BIRDS CHIRPED, GREETING JULIETTE as she went down the steps of Cellblock C. She had to resist the urge to pluck a flower from the many pots of plants lining the exit. She let out a yawn, closing her eyes as she stretched the muscles in her back, hearing satisfying pops.

Opening her eyes, she flinches and lets out a small gasp of surprise. Right before her eyes, was her friend, Scout Walker. "Oh, my, God, Scout! You have got to stop doing that!" She shoves the boy's shoulder, feigning aggravation as she walks past him.

She could hear his laughter as he catches up to her, matching her pace. "I can't help it when it's so easy to scare you. I mean, come on, I could tap your shoulder and you'd jump." Rolling her eyes, about to open her mouth to retort, another boy moves in front of them.

She recognizes him as Patrick, a boy donning a pair of black rimmed glasses, who was a few years younger than her. Scout likes to joke that Patrick has a little crush on her, with how often he talks to her. She dismisses the idea entirely, because he talks to other people just as much as he does to her.

Jules smiles kindly, nodding passively at him as a greeting, hoping that would display that she doesn't want to talk right now. She overslept as is, and she promised Rick to help him with yard work.

"Good morning, Juliette," Patrick said, a little too enthused. He used a finger to push up his glasses as he began walking on the other side of the girl. Jules's expression faltered, making Scout let out a breathy laugh that Patrick didn't seem to notice. One thing about Patrick is that he, for some reason, refused to call her Jules. It didn't particularly annoy her, but she didn't exactly appreciate it.

"Thank you, Patrick," she replies with a hearty laugh.

He grinned, adjusting the polo he was wearing. "I made you a plate of food earlier," he pointed out as they reached the picnic benches. Scout mumbled something under his breath, most likely mocking the younger boy, but Jules ignored it.

"That's very nice of you," Jules thanked, "however, I'm not all that hungry right now." That was a lie, and everyone put the oblivious Patrick would know, but she preferred to skip meals every now and again. She was in her prime, she didn't need the food as much as others do, right?

Often times Beth, and sometimes Scout, would basically force her to eat if they find out she hasn't in a while. That isn't a fun experience.

The hip in Patrick's step was gone. "Oh."

Jules frowned, not liking be the reason his mood dampened. "Why don't you give it to Daryl? He's standing right over there, and we all know Daryl eats way more than the average person." Jules knew how much the boy admired the biker, so she used that to her advantage. Patrick looked up, smile returning as he wasted no time speeding off to the bearded man. Jules would have to apologize to Daryl later for that one.
