"I just asked Liv out. She hasn't given me an answer yet though," Paul simply stated.

Ollie raised his eyebrows and looked at me.

"Liv?" hurt flashed over his face for the split of a second.

"Sorry, but I've got a ton of school work this week," I lied.

"No worries, next time then," Paul smiled, "I have to go now, see you,"

"See you," I replied.

Paul gave me a nod and patted Ollie on the shoulder before making his way through all the students.

"What the hell?" Ollie looked at me furiously.

"What?"

"You just lied to him,"

"I didn't want to hurt his feelings," I tried to explain.

"Yeah, well you just did something worse. You gave him hope,"

"I-, he's just a friend," I said.

"He doesn't see you that way. He likes you. The way he looks at you-, I-," Ollie clenched his fists.

"Hey," I put my hands over his, "It doesn't matter. I don't have any romantic feelings for him. There's only one person I'm in love with. You, Ollie,"

The anger in his eyes vanished and his gaze softened. He unclenched his fists and intervened our fingers instead.

"Can you just, tell him, please?"

"I will, I promise," I placed a kiss on his cheek.

We walked to our first period together, holding hands.

...

I was exiting the school and let out a relieved sigh. School was extremely boring that day, but luckily it was over.

I walked down the stairs and made my way through the school gate.

A girl with dark curls was leaning against the brick wall surrounding our school. She was typing on her phone, but once she noticed me, she looked up.

I was about to pass her, when spoke up.

"It's Olivia, right?"

I turned around to face her and nodded.

"Yes...?"

"I'm Naomi. I'm not sure you know you I am,"

Ollie's ex-girlfriend's name was Naomi.

I didn't know what she looked like, but could this be her?

"I think so. What do you want?"

"I've noticed the two of getting closer," she spoke.

"Aren't you dating John?" I asked.

"No, we weren't even dating to begin with. It's a long story, but that's not what this is about. I'm not jealous of the two of you or anything like that," she explained.

"Then what is it?"

"I just wanted to tell you to be careful," she said.

"Why?"

"Because, dating Ollie isn't easy. I'm sure you know why, I mean by now he must've told you. What I'm saying is that back when we were dating, it was basically bound to not work out. I knew it from the beginning, but I didn't want to admit it,"

More and more students were walking out of the school and Naomi took a few steps away from me.

"Maybe you're better than me," she shrugged her shoulders and left.
