Scott's Perspective-

My alarm clock beeped as I woke up one Monday morning.

I got ready for school, skipped breakfast, got to school, and ran into my friends Jimmy and Grian.

Grian looked nervous as he saw me, and my face fell.

"What?" I asked.

"I- Scott, I have bad news." Grian said, "Scar told me that today...Martyn was found dead on his bedroom floor."

My eyes widened.

"W-what?" I asked, my voice cracking.

"No one was home and...we're pretty sure he...yeah." Grian said, trailing off awkwardly.

"No..." I cried.

"Scott, it's going to be- "

I shook my head and ran away from Jimmy.

-

I sniffed as I curled up in the bathroom.

"Scott...I'm sorry, I have to do this...I don't have a choice."

"Martyn? What do you mean? What's going on?"

Martyn kissed my cheek and cried, "I have to break up with you."

I cried harder into my knees as the memories flooded me.

"It's all my fault. It's because I started to like Jimmy."

"Scott?"

I looked up when I heard Grian's voice.

I wiped my nose.

"What do you want? Did the teacher send you?"

"Maybe, but...look, I just want to tell you that...Martyn loves you, despite him breaking up with you."

"I love him too. I'm so stupid for having a crush on Jimmy now." I sobbed, baring my head in my knees.

"You're not stupid. Martyn had to break up with you, he didn't have a choice."

My breath hitched, "How do you know that?"

"Oh- er- I just- "

"Grian...do you and Scar know something I don't?"

"I- "

Grian cut himself off as I opened up the stall door.

"Grian, tell me the truth." I said sternly.

Grian looked scared as he backed up slowly.

"I- the truth?"

I nodded,

"The truth."

Grian took a deep breath when someone else walked into the bathroom.

They looked at me and then Grian and then said,

"Er- you two going through a breakup or something?"

"Nope!" Grian said quickly as he walked out.

"GRIAN!" I shouted before sighing.

The guy standing there looked confused.

"I'm just, gonna go use the- "

"Go ahead." I said, waving him down before walking over to the sinks and splashing water in my face.

Grian knows something I don't.

"So," The guy walked out of the stall and started to wash his hands, "What happened there?"

"Why should I tell you?" I snapped.

The guy shrugged, "Fine. Just trying to help."

I looked at him.

He had white hair that was tied back into a braid, a blue hoodie that had a logo on it and the words 'Let's Go Richmond', jeans, and a gold necklace that was a sign that said 'Believe'.

"What's Richmond?" I asked.

"A made-up soccer- I mean football team."

I raised an eyebrow and the guy sighed.

"Don't ask." He said and I giggled.

"Alright."

He dried off his hands and then walked towards the door.

"My name's Rick by the way." The guy said.

I looked at him.

"Rick?"

"Rick Denson."

I nodded, "Got it. I'm Scott."

Rick then dried his hands and walked over to the door, opening it.

"If you need anything, feel free to bother me at lunch."

He then left.

I left for my classroom, taking one last glance over my shoulder at Rick.

Huh. I feel like I know him from somewhere...

So. Rick. What kind of impact do you think he's going to have?

Maybe I made him like Tom, just a helper with Scott, a side character.

Or maybe I made him to help Jimmy and Scott get together.

Or maybe I just wanted to make someone to be a potential love interest for someone else.

Or maybe all of those things and more.

But it all leads down to one, simple question.

Do you trust me?
