"She better be fucking dying if it's this important," Eros grumbled as he drove toward Rika's house. I took a deep breath, trying not to say something I would regret.
Eros doesn't seem to like Rika very much, but it's not like he had to come. He didn't really give me another choice when he stole my keys and forced me into his car.
"Eros, please," I sigh, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
He turns to look at me, his gaze dark and eyes angry. I want to shrink back, but I keep myself from crumbling to his attempt at intimidating me. He loves to have control, even if it is in the most uncalled-for ways.
Eros parks outside of her house, and I'm quick to get out and hurry to her door.
I don't check to see if Eros followed me. I knock twice, and the lock clicks and Rika lets me in. She's got mascara smudged around her eyes, and her house is a bit of a mess. It looked like someone came in and through a bunch of stuff all over the place. Broken plates, torn cushions, shattered lamp.
She pauses, glancing over my head.
"What the fuck is he doing here?" she asks me, crossing her arms.
I refrain from telling her that she really isn't in the position to be talking like that, but Eros comes up right behind me radiating disgust at her words.
"He drove me here. Now tell me what happened," I request, softening my tone. Rika glared at him for a second longer before walking further into the house.
"Noah didn't take the news well. He refuses to believe it's his," she shakes her head, motioning with her hands to the wreck made in her home.
"What's she talking about?" Eros asked me, even though Rika was right in front of us. I look at him, shaking my head before turning to Rika.
I didn't expect her to say anything, but she does.
"I'm pregnant," she muttered, running her hands over her arms, "I just found out today."
Eros's shock is apparent, but he hides it immediately. Then he looks down at me, as if he thinks I will elaborate.
"Where's Noah now?" I asked, sweeping a broken plate to the side with my shoe.
Rika shrugged, "He stormed out after throwing all this shit around. Never said where he was going."
"Are..." I hesitate, trying to find the right words, "Are you going to keep it?"
Rika doesn't meet my eyes, "I want to. But..."
"But?" I tilt my head.
She sits down in the chair next to the counter, "But he definitely doesn't want to."
"Did he say that?" I ask, raising a brow. Rika pauses, glancing over at me.
"No, but it's kind of obvious," she said.
