There is nothing more beautiful than watching an innocent angel fall apart at my sinful actions. I'm going to ruin her.
"Augustine."
And she comes, looking down at me as she does so.
She glows, lighting up the goddamn room. Her feet barely touch t...

"I feel that I owe you an apology."
Noah raised an eyebrow, his thumb caressing the back of Rika's unmoving hand.
"I judged you too quickly about this," I clarified, "And I'm sorry."
He shook his head, staring down at the mother of his unborn child, "I don't blame you."
How could he not hate us right now?
"Eros is working on tracking her attacker down. He's trying to dodge the police," I informed Noah, trying to give him a sense of hope.
It clearly wasn't working, though.
"He's gotta be careful. If they get their hands on him, he'll end up back in jail," Noah worried, his dark eyes meeting mine like he knew something I didn't.
"But he hasn't done anything but try to help her..."
"Doesn't matter," Noah spoke, "The police will go to any extent to get Eros put away. It's just another number to their paycheck."
"That's not legal," I huffed.
"Course it's not," Noah shrugged, "But it didn't stop them the first time."
I leaned my head against my palm while I sat in the chair across from him, worrying even more about Eros now.
"What do you know about Alyssa Vertes?"
Noah's eyes shot up, his body clearly reacting at the name. I didn't mean to sound so interrogational.
"She's Rika's cousin," Noah told me, "Rika hadn't spoken to her in a while. She got caught up in all types of shit when she got a big modeling gig."
"Were they on bad terms?" I asked further.
"Not necessarily," Noah shrugged, "Alyssa tried to turn Rika against her friends, and Rika was tired of it. Then the whole thing with Eros happened..."
My eyes narrowed, "What thing? You mean their fling?"
Noah's eyes flashed with a twinge of regret, almost like he had forgotten he wasn't supposed to say that. My stomach twisted, an uneasiness stirring within me.
"He hasn't told you?" Noah asked, his face now coated with what seemed like anger, "He asked you to marry him, but he hasn't told you what he did to her?"
What he did to her?
Hello?
I blinked, "What are you talking about?"
"I thought he was smarter than that..." Noah shook his head, his hands no longer holding Rika's. They were balled into fists. "It's—It's not really my place."
"Noah," I snapped, "What are you talking about?"
Noah wasn't listening to me, only shaking his head and mumbling something about how Eros should've told me by now.
