As the day dragged on with Scarlett resting in her new bedroom with her new bouquet of flowers, Seven made several attempts to enter and talk with her, but each time proved to be fatal as Scarlett would only scream and beg for him to leave and not hurt her. Even the sound of his voice made her cower. And as the sun had risen to announce a new morning, Seven felt drained. He really hoped that the flowers would have calmed Scarlett down enough for him to be able to have a small conversation with her, to prove to her that he wasn't some sadistic, scary freak who wanted to hurt her.

Rubbing his vermillion hair that had grown frizzy and tangled during the night from how much he had tossed and turned in his bed, barely getting a wink of sleep, Seven forced his heavy legs down the stairs before dragging his heels towards the kitchen. Although he had no appetite, he desperately wanted a cold glass of PhD Pepper. The thought of breaking off chunks of ice from the freezer and chugging the icy drink made his mouth water. However, as he rounded the corner and entered the kitchen, he looked up, horrified to see that Jaehee was taking the flowers he had bought for Scarlett the day before out of the vase and was lifting them towards the bin.

His heart sank. The flowers hadn't even withered yet. She must have hated them because it was he who had bought them.

"Did she really hate them that much?" Seven asked dismally, causing Jaehee to jump out of her skin at his sudden appearance.

The moment she spun around, Jaehee wore a guilty expression on her face as though she had just been caught doing something she shouldn't have been doing. She panned her eyes from Seven, then to the flowers she had grasped tightly in her hand by the stems. It looked as though Jaehee was stretching her arm as far as it could go, making the woman look as though she didn't want the flowers anywhere near her, which only made Seven's stomach twist into a knot.

Are the flowers really that bad?

Seven shook his head. He decided that he was jumping to conclusions. His feelings of defeat must be making him paranoid.

"It-it wasn't that she hated them, Luciel. It's just, well-" Jaehee stuttered, a look of panic bubbling in her eyes as she tried to come up with an explanation, which only made Seven grow irritated.

"You don't have to sugar-coat it, Jaehee. If she hated them, she hated them. I don't want to be tortured with lies when deep down I know the truth" Seven spoke coldly. He just wanted to get his drink and hide in his room hoping the world would forget that he existed.

"No, no! It wasn't that at all, Luciel! You know I am not one for lies, myself. You should know this by now" Jaehee retorted, her words lathered heavily in that same professional tone she always used, reminding the young hacker just who Jaehee Kang was and stood for.

"She thought they were nice, but of course, she wouldn't go near them as she was afraid you had done something to them. But, just this morning, the flowers they, well, oh - how on earth do I say this?" the chief assistant lost all her professionalism within a blink of an eye as her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Seven frowned with confusion. "What? What is it?"

Rubbing her eyes with her free hand, Jaehee heaved out a sigh before facing Seven again. "It's just - it turns out that the flowers you had bought are flowers that attract flies and dung beetles and-"

Before Jaehee could even finish, Seven's eyes grew wide with horror. "Oh no! She didn't wake up to dozens of flies and beetles inside her room, did she?!"

"No, no! That's not what happened, either. As these types of flowers attract flies and dung beetles, they do this with the smell they portray, although they don't exactly smell of anything at first. This means that once they took time to give off the smell, this morning Scarlett's room absolutely reeked of, well, faeces" Jaehee tried not to cringe as she finally explained what had happened.
