One month later...
"Wow, it's been a while since I've been back in Rika's safe house" Zen exclaimed as he sat next to Jaehee on the sofa, looking around him as Deja vu hit him from all angles, making him shiver slightly from all the pain and suffering each member had gone through whilst hiding there as they searched for Yoosung. It had been a scary time for them all, and not a time Zen particularly wanted to remember, making it his sole mission to create new memories within the safe house and free everyone from the darkness that still lingered in the shadows, watching them silently, reminding them of the horror, the hopelessness, and the betrayal each of them went through.
"Yes, it has been a while since we've all been here and I'm glad it's on good terms this time" Jaehee smiled as she spoke, allowing herself to relax on the sofa.
"You can say that again!" Zen spoke happily as he, Jaehee and Jumin all turned to face Yoosung with relief shining out of their eyes. Hearing them both, Yoosung smiled at the three of them, feeling the exact same way as they did. It was good to sit in Rika's safe house without anything bad happening for once.
Once the sky had darkened to a navy blue whilst the sun parted for the night, each member made their way to the safe house to spend a small vacation there during the summer months. It had been Emjay's idea, thinking that now Yoosung's final mock exams had finished and the university was closed for the Summer term, they should all stay at the safe house together. She thought it'd be a good way to help ease Yoosung's trauma by creating some happy memories in the building that had harboured so much suffering. Thankfully, Yoosung loved the idea and everyone else agreed. The boy only wished Jumin would have booked time for himself and Jaehee off work, but the crazy workaholic didn't back down - much to Jaehee's disappointment. At least he agreed to stay at the safe house instead of making Jaehee travel with him to work and then back to the safe house again every day.
"I agree with Assistant Kang. We're glad you're here, Yoosung" Jumin added as he crossed his legs comfortably while sitting on the armchair that faced both of the sofas.
"I second that!" Emjay called out as she entered the room again, carrying a tray of tea, coffee, milk and sugar, setting it down on the glass coffee table that was placed in the centre of the room within everyone's reach.
Watching her, Jaehee grimaced. "You should have let me make all of that, Emjay. You should be relaxing on the sofa with Yoosung instead of- "
"Jaehee Kang!" Emjay interrupted the young woman with such a stern voice that she caused Jaehee's eyes to widen whilst everyone else's mouths dropped open in shock. In all her years of working as Jumin's chief assistant, everyone at C&R saw Jaehee Kang as a stern woman who wasn't to be messed with and none of them would even have dared to speak to her like how Emjay did. However, Jaehee was so taken aback that she had no idea how to feel about it or react to it.
As the whole room fell deathly silent with everyone waiting in anticipation of what was about to happen next, Emjay put her hands on her hips as she glared down at Jaehee as though she was a mother annoyed at her misbehaving child before a sudden smile appeared on her lips. "You work nonstop every day and have still been able to stay sane! The least I can do is make you some coffee!" the young girl added, before circling around to the back of the sofa that Jaehee sat on, wrapping her arms around her, and hugging the woman from behind.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Jaehee rubbed Emjay's arms as a huge grin began to appear on her face. "You really are a star, Emjay"
Once Emjay was seated next to Yoosung and all their drinks had been poured - although Zen took his reluctantly, wishing he had a beer instead of tea or coffee - Yoosung cast his eyes outside with a worried expression plastered on his face.
