Jaehee Kang sighed, leaning against the wall inside the C&R building as the thunderous click-clacks of fingertips hitting keys on computer keyboards began to thud painfully in her temples. She scanned all the new faces that she barely remembered the names of, seeing how most of them looked tired, unmotivated, and confused.

Groaning, she rubbed her fingertips over her heavy eyelids, revelling at how nice it felt as the coolness of her skin soothed her aching eyeballs. However, she didn't get to do it for long when she recognised the pair of footsteps that she was certain were clicking towards her across the tiled flooring. Hearing them, Jaehee instantly stood back up and snapped her eyes open again as she watched Jumin Han making his way over to her. Although Jumin was the biggest workaholic Jaehee had ever met, even the young CEO-in-line looked exhausted.

"Have any of the new hackers we hired found anything yet, Assistant Kang?" he asked as Jaehee blinked in shock at how much Jumin's breath reeked of caffeine. Although it didn't disgust her, it did, however, worsen her cravings for her usual strong, black coffee. She hadn't had time to make a cup in hours and hiding how much her body trembled with a raging hunger was beginning to grow unbearable.

"I'm afraid none of them has found anything yet, Mr Han. Even some of the best hackers we hired haven't been able to find anything" Jaehee sighed as she explained, gritting her teeth together painfully as she tried her best to ignore the smell of coffee travelling from Jumin's breath and into her quivering nostrils.

The young CEO sighed heavily in response. "It's been a week since the party, and we're still nowhere near to finding that hacker or where that religious cult he's part of is located"

"We will find them. I know we will. It has only been a week since we started looking properly, after all" Jaehee said, trying to console her boss as much as possible, even though she felt just as defeated as he must be feeling.

"I know, but now that I'm the leader of RFA, I need to do a better job at protecting everyone than V did"

Jaehee darted her eyes up at Jumin in surprise. She'd never thought the man ever cared. But just as she thought of that, images of him stressed out over trying to find Yoosung's whereabouts when he was kidnapped and doing all he could to make sure the boy was back safely flashed through her mind, reminding her that Jumin Han wasn't the stone-hearted CEO she always thought of him to be. Under all that coldness, there was a love and caringness hidden there. During those terrifying and trying moments of Yoosung's kidnapping, Jaehee had seen a completely different side to her boss that she'd never seen before. She was truly thankful for how committed he had been to hunting down the young student's whereabouts, even when it seemed many times that they'd never find him again. And if they did, alive.

Breaking away from her thoughts, Jaehee brought matters back to them both. "Have you heard anything from V yet?"

Jumin sighed. "No, and I doubt any of us will, at least for a while. Unless..." Jumin glanced over to the side as a fearful thought entered his mind. But it turned out that he didn't need to speak it, as Jaehee knew exactly what he meant.

"Unless he doesn't ever come back?" she asked in a worried voice, and when the man didn't reply, she took that as a 'yes'. She shuddered as she realised just how much of a possibility that actually was, and was shocked that she'd never considered it before. What if V never came back? What if none of the members ever heard from him again?

Feeling a sense of gloom beginning to swirl around her and her boss, the elevator at the very end of the large room pinged before the doors slid open. They ignored it at first, before a loud voice bellowed towards them, scaring them both out of their thoughts.

"Jaehee! Juju! Your saviour is here! I, 707, the Defender of Justice, have come to rescue you all!" As the voice of Seven echoed throughout the room, every hacker halted, their fingers freezing in midair as they glanced past their glowing monitors at the vermilion-haired boy with curiosity and amusement.
