The scene playing out before her was meant to be a happy one, a moment that would enter the hearts of anyone fortunate enough to witness it. A reunion. Something magical and warm, something that should have happened years ago to end the pain and suffering of those separated.

She knew she should be glad, relieved to see this finally happening, and yet, Emjay felt nothing but scepticism and suspicion.

Emjay watched as Yoosung sobbed into his cousin's shoulder, his cousin who was supposed to have died almost three years ago. Emjay watched as she rubbed his back soothingly and it enraged her. She could feel her blood simmering just below her skin before boiling painfully across her whole body.

Yoosung wouldn't be reacting like this if the saviour hadn't been Rika. Because she was Rika, the boy had forgotten what had happened to them for a whole year. Rika is the saviour of Mint Eye, the one organisation that has been after the RFA like cruel monsters playing with their prey. A saviour that had supposedly commanded the cruel and painful tortures of Scarlett in order to try and kill Emjay and inject Yoosung with what she called the 'Elixir' and had brainwashed her against Seven. A saviour who seemed to have the hacker, who kidnapped Yoosung for months and tried to murder him, under her wing as - what - a loyal follower?

So many questions plagued her mind about Rika Kim, questions that Yoosung himself should have been thinking about and confronting his beloved cousin about. Instead, his judgements were clouded, abandoned to some dark void that he probably tried to forget about completely.

Not on Emjay's watch he wasn't.

Turning back towards the wall where she had left Saeran cowering for his life, Emjay raised the broken glass bottle, ready to pin the shards against that monster's throat again to pry answers out of Rika. However, she was stunned to see an empty space where the hacker had once been. She darted her head around her before noticing Saeran sprinting down the empty corridor to her right away from the chaos in the hallway.

Emjay stepped forward, tempted to sprint after him and drag him back, but she stopped herself. She couldn't leave Yoosung, not even for a second. Now that she knew that Rika Kim was the saviour, she had to keep her eyes on her like a hawk. That woman would have to get through Emjay first if she even thought about manipulating or hurting Yoosung.

It was then that the thought suddenly crossed her mind.

Would Rika Kim go so far as to hurt Yoosung?

Although they were just cousins, Emjay had heard many stories of how close she and her little cousin had been, creating a bond so strong that they were often mistaken for brother and sister. Would someone who cared about their little cousin that much ever stoop so low as to hurt them? Emjay hoped the woman wouldn't, but then, hadn't she already been hurting Yoosung by lying about her death for so many years? And what about the things Scarlett had told them? If Scarlett was accurate in her tellings, then Rika wanted to have Emjay killed and Yoosung injected with the same drugs that made poor Scarlett writhe in pain.

Emjay groaned under her breath. She pinched the bridge of her nose with her free hand, wishing that someone in this bloody place would just tell her the truth.

"Hello, Emjay"

Startling her slightly, Emjay darted her eyes up towards the voice to see Rika staring straight at her with Yoosung by her side, his lilac eyes reddened with tears. He was smiling. The woman still had her arm wrapped across his shoulders, and Emjay wanted nothing more than to tear them apart and drag Yoosung out of there.

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you" Rika smiled and Emjay noticed how the corners of her lips didn't reach her green eyes that seemed to bore into her.
