"May boyfriend ka ba, Ate?"

Sinulyapan niya si Kat-kat mula sa rear-view mirror. May ngiti sa mga labi ng dalagita at nakangalumbaba ito sa kanya.

She settled more comfortably into the leather seat and stretched out her legs. Pang matangkad na tao talaga ang SUV ng binata, at p'wedeng mag-unat ng mga binti kahit nasa front seat. "I don't do boyfriends, I only do flings."

"Flings? Ano 'yun?"

"Ayokong i-contaminate ka, my lifestyle is not for everybody."

"Hm...okay, bakit hindi ka nagbo-boyfriend?"

"Hassle. Too much work. I've got other priorities."

"Ano'ng priorities mo, Ate?"

"Myself. Work, money, fun. I don't have time and emotional inclinations to invest on a boyfriend. "

Nag-red light sa intersection, at binagalan ni Evan ang takbo ng sasakyan saka inihinto. Sandali niyang sinulyapan ang binata. His blue eyes looked pensive as he stared out the window.

Nag-ring ang kanyang phone, at sinagot niya iyon. "Darcy," bungad niya sa kanyang assistant.

"It's a weekend and you're on a vacation, but I thought you'd like to know that the quarterly reports from the Lavinia Montoya Foundation's already on your email."

"Thanks, I'll read it later, but give me the overview."

Binigay ng kanyang assistant ang figures ng mga nakatapos ng scholarship nila.

"Good. Ilan ang na-absorb natin?" untag niya.

"We're absorbing all of them in the seven hundred sixty Lavinia Salon all over NCR."

"The Crafts and Arts workshops in Luzon? Nakausap niyo na ang National Bookstore?"

"Yes, we've finalized the contract. The details are in the email. We'll be supplying art calendars, planners, notebooks, coffee table books, pots and art fixtures to all National Bookstore outlets all over the country next quarter."

"Good, very good. Sa Fully Booked at Power Books?"

"Ganoon din."

"Awesome work, Darcy." Nakikita na niya sa isipan ang efficient at ever punctual na assistant niya. Nakapusod ang buhok at walang ni isang hibla na wala sa lugar. Perpekto ang makeup at nakasuot ng sexy-glasses nito. "Nakapag-deliver na ba ulit sa SM and Robinson's?"

"Not yet, sa isang linggo pa."

"Okay, anything else?"

"That's it for now."

"Okay, thanks. Stop working on a weekend. Go out and play, Darcy."

"Yeah, maaga pa naman. Sige, later."

"Later."

"Ano 'yun, Ate?" usisa ni Kat-kat.

Sinulyapan niya ulit ang bata sa salamin. Namimilog ang mga mata nito na para bang nakita nito ang paboritong artista nito.

"Akala ko ba cosmetic surgeon ka? Bakit parang may mga ibang business ka pa?"

"I do have other businesses aside from Lavinia Montoya Clinic. 'Yung Lavinia Salon sa Robinson's? Akin 'yun."

Namilog lalo ang mga mata ng bata. "Hindi nga?"

"Yes, that's mine. I also have spa clinics."

"Ano 'yung sa National Bookstore? 'Yung sa SM at Robinson's? May restaurants ka rin?"
