The 'Predictability' of Training

Let's just say controlling these weather powers is much more of a science than you think. It's crazy, like I'm actually sweating! I dread to know what I look like now...

"Lexi! Concentrate! I can feel you haven't got all your power into this yet." Kade exclaimed as he kneeled in front of me.

It was mid-morning and the temperature outside was literally 40 Degrees - not because of my mood - but because my emotions randomly heighten every now and then. 'Perk' of not having control of such a powerful power, so to speak.

I felt like a melting snowman. I was absolutely freezing yet everyone else was almost on the verge of heatstroke. Kade and I were in his room with his air-conditioning on full-blast. That just made me resemble something out of Antarctica even more, yet Kade was sweating buckets as he tried to train my stubborn weather-controlling power.

"I am trying but I can't think when I am so cold!" I was so frustrated! I couldn't get it to work. What was wrong with me?

"You have to let go of the frustration; it only restricts you more." Kade explained softly as he took his drenched shirt off, revealing a six pack which I had no energy to admire.

I flopped down on the bed and let all my muscles relax. "This is impossible!"

Kade sighed, picked himself up off the floor and sat next to me on the bed.

"No it's not Lex, you just have to hang in there. It doesn't get any worse, but will only get easier," Kade gently replied, looking down at me. He reached out and touched my cheek, the warmth in his hand emanating into my body. I smiled. I loved it when he looked after me and cared for me.

"I'm so in love with you." I said smiling at him. Kade grinned and chuckled. "Oh dear Lexi," Kade laughed as got up from the bed.

A perplexed grin crossed my face. "What?"

"You are so random, but I'm also in love with you." He declared with the cutest smile ever." But back to training. Weather is something that people like your dad will pick up on and will give him leads to where we are located. From then he will search high and low, unrelenting. So we need to keep it together, okay?" I nodded, and Kade grabbed my hand, pulling me off the bed.

I followed him downstairs where he poured me a glass of water. "You will need this for the next training session." That didn't sound good...

Frowning, I took a sip of the ice cold water. I now felt like a complete iceberg - from head to toe.

"You would think making me colder would help the weather but it doesn't." I took another gulp and finished the water off.

"Yeah. I don't get this power, it's one of the worst really." Kade said shaking his head as his thoughts wondered to some distant universe.

I snapped my fingers inches from his face and his eyes snapped back to me.

"Are you ok?" I asked, frowning. Kade nodded and took the glass out of my hand, a blank expression marking his face.

Confused, I shrugged and followed Kade to wherever he was going.

"Can't I train my other stuff like telekinesis?" I pried. Kade turned around and smiled: "That's exactly where we are going." Down the stairs he tramped; through the basement and past all sorts of contraptions and stuff.

"Where is your dad?" I inquired as we walked through Kade's dad's lab. As I looked around I saw all different types of test tubes filled to different levels with bright coloured liquid. Awe entangled me as I absorbed all I was seeing - mysterious machines and all sorts of contraptions - things belonging in sci-fi movies.
