"Lexi," Someone whispered to me.
I still had my eyes closed and I really didn't want to open them.
"Lexi," The person whispered again, I could tell it was Kade's voice, I moaned and turned over on to my side. I opened my eyes slowly and Kade was kneeling by the bed.
"Mmm.." I mumbled as I started to awaken.
"You need to go home," Kade whispered.
I frowned and all the events of yesterday came flowing into my brain.
I sat up and pulled the duvet off of me. "Oh my goodness, my dad is going to kill me." I said in a rush.
"Lexi calm down its still early," Kade said and stood up.
I checked the time and it was five in the morning.
"I assumed we weren't going to go to school today?" Kade said and grabbed a shirt out of his cupboard. He slipped it on over his bare chest and sprayed some colon on.
"Are you going to come to the hospital with me?" I asked as I stood up off the bed, I looked down at myself and I was still in the same clothes as yesterday.
I looked a mess, my clothes still ripped and dirty from the accident.
"Lexi I have to be careful around your dad. I have to try and throw them off so I think I will just visit for a short time." Kade said.
"How are you going to do that?" I asked, it was kind if hard to throw them off when we both had just been in an accident and it looked like we came back from the spa.
Kade smirked and pulled out a bottle of clear liquid.
"My dad made this. It in a way slows our powers down. So if I drink this and cut myself a bit then the cuts will stay for longer, long enough for them not to suspect I healed totally from yesterday."
My eyes were wide from shock, that was beyond cool!
"You need to do this too." Kade said and walked to his door.
"My dad has more downstairs, and you need to get cleaned up before you go to the hospital." Kade winked at me and left his room.
I followed him down the stairs and through to the kitchen.
I handed me a similar bottle with the same clear liquid in it.
"Once you drink the stuff I am going to have to put some small cuts on you and it will probably hurt because you are so used to it just healing." Kade said and I nodded.
I'm sure I could handle a few cuts after yesterday.
I opened the lid and drank the stuff. It gave me a weird tingly feeling as it went through my body.
"You know I don't want to do this, right?" Kade said looking a bit worried.
I nodded and Kade brought the knife against my face making small cuts.
They stung like hell and the kept stinging. Just like all the other times the pain went away this time it didn't.
"This hurts," I said in a whisper.
"I know is does but you will get use to it." Kade said and finished up the last few touches on my legs.
I watched as Kade did the same, he drank the liquid and brought the knife along his body in random places. He was doing it a lot quicker on his body then on mine.
"Can I just go home to get some fresh clothes?" I asked as Kade finished.
"Sure."
---
I looked in my cupboard and pulled out a dress so that you would be able to see the cuts on my legs and arms more clearly.
I slipped it on and out some sandals on. I couldn't be bothered with make-up and doing my hair nicely.
I went downstairs and grabbed an apple out of the fruit bowl before locking the house up and getting into the car.
While we were driving in the car I decided to check my phone for messages.
I had about 6 unread messages and a few missed calls all from Kate.
Kate: See you later x
Kate: Where are you?
Kate:You are half an hour late Lexi!
2 missed calls - Kate
Kate: Can't believe you ditched me!
Kate: Omigosh heard what happened are you ok?
Kate: Please let me know!
5 missed calls - Kate
I sighed and locked my phone. I didn't have time to deal with a paranoid best friend.
The sun was just rising and we only had a few more minuets before we had to be at the hospital.
We arrived at the hospital and I could myself losing my breath quicker.
"Why am I losing my breath from walking fast?" I asked.
"Drinking that stuff basically made you normal for a short amount of time and none of your powers work so your body is working at a normal pace."
I nodded. It felt weird to be ordinary for a change.
I walked to the room that I snuck out of last night and it hadn't changed one bit.
The blanket was still tossed aside and a few of my belongings were still on the bedside table.
I sighed in relief.
"Lets go see Cameron." I said as I walked out the room.
Kade followed behind me as we walked down the long hallways of the hospital, that awful disinfectant smell coming from the different rooms.
We finally reached Cameron's room and my dad was still asleep in the chair.
"You nervous?" I asked Kade as I walked closer to my dad.
Kade nodded his head slightly and I took a deep breath.
I shook my dad a little to try and wake him up. His eyes fluttered and he opened them to see me staring down at him.
"Morning," I said softly, my dad frowned and looked around, he spotted Kade and I could feel him tense.
"What's wrong?" I asked softly,
My dad looked at Kade an frowned and then at me.
"Nothing," he said and pushed the blanket off of his body.
"Why haven't you cleaned up your scratches from yesterday?" He asked me,
"I'm scared to do it myself." I said softly, my dad smiled and looked at Kade, "and you?" My dad said coldly.
"I was watching Lexi sleep the whole night. She was having nightmares." Kade said, it wasn't totally a lie. I did have nightmares last night, Kade must of sensed them.
My dad looked lost as he looked at Kade's scratches.
"Ok well please help Lexi clean herself up, I'm going to stay here and watch over Cameron."
We both nodded and went out the room.
That worked nicely
I heard Kade's voice say in my head.
I looked at him with shock.
"That's cool" I whispered and entwined my fingers in his.
We went back to my hospital room and Kade wiped the cuts which hurt a lot!
"When is the stuff going to wear off?" I asked softly.
"We drank a lot for a reason, it needs to last a week and then we will start healing." Kade said, I got off the counter and helped Kade with his scratches.
"A whole week without something I haven't lived a second without. Its going to be a very interesting week."
