Three Dixon's

Chapter 4:

When I wake up I get up and quickly put on some clean jeans and tank top. I then walk into the kitchen, smelling burned pancakes?

"Who's cooking!?" I say loudly
"My mom" says Carl
"Well I don't call that cooking but I'll go show her" I say walking into the kitchen

"Hey Lori, do you need help?" I ask
"Um..if you can help" she says scrapping off burned pancakes
I sigh and grab the batter
"Well no wonder! This batter is to watery!" I say "give me the mix"
She hands it to me and I pour a cup full and mix it, making it perfect.

"There" I say grabbing the pan and washing off the burned pancake. I then dry it off and rub butter all over the pan.

"Here" I say pouring some batter and handing it to her
"You wait until there's a lot if bubbles on top. Then you flip it" I say
She nods and soon enough we have not bad tasting pancakes.

"These are so much better!" Says Rick
"Hailey helped out" says Lori
"Well your a good cook" says Shane stuffing his mouth with pancakes
"Well you learn alot being the lady of the house" I say

I notice Daryls mood drop at those words and I know were both thinking the same thing.

"Well atleast Mom doesn't ruin this batch" says Carl
I shake my head and say "might as well be our last because Jenners coming" I say looking at Andrea and him

"Follow me, I have something to show you" says Jenner
We all nod and follow into a big room full of computers and a big giant screen ahead.

I look at it as it turns on.

"Wow this is amazing" I yell out before I can catch myself.
Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy.
"What?" I say turning towards the big screen tv. Watching as the screen played the brain and how it reacted when killed or infected.

"Wait so the brain basically just goes dead and it just revives the main part but the rest is just history?" I ask as more of a question than statement
"How did you know that?" Asks Jenner
"Because it's science and simple to me plus this is the thing that sends brain waves through out the body but without the rest anything you are or will be is just gone" I add
Everyone gives me that 'wow' look and I just smile and say "Science is my world so stop looking!" I yell
Everyone stops looking at me and looks back at the screen, watching as the video ends with the patient getting their head sliced.

"You killed it" says Andrea
"Yea..it was my wife. She was infected and it all depends on you on how long it takes for you to turn" says Jenner
We all nod and he adds "those are-"
I cut him off and say "synapses, their basically the nutshell of life"
Everyone looks at me as if I grown another head.
"How did you know that?" Asks Jenner
"It's all about the brain science" I say
All Jenner says is 'oh' and explains everything else he knows.
That's when Dale asks the question thats been on my mind too.
"Why is that timer ticking down?"

Jeanner explains what's going to happen when it hits 0 and I start to walk slowly towards the door but he notices and Slams them shut.

I immediately react by running towards him and punching him straight in the face and everyone knows better than to hold me but Daryl walks up to me and grabs my shirt, dragging me away from him and I know better than to fight with Daryl.
"What's the difference between dieing in here and out there? This pain only last for a millisecond" says Jenner
"Because we get the choice!" I yell out

"I don't want to die" I say quietly, holding back tears

Carl

I look at the mess unfold as my dad, Shane and t-dog try breaking the steel inforced walls.

That's when I notice Hailey with Daryl, holding back tears.

I hug my mom and almost start to cry when the door swings open. We all immediately run to grab our stuff but the door won't open so we try breaking the glass.
That's when Carol pulls out a grenade.

"I found this In the clothes I washed, the ones that were yours" says Carol handing the grenade to Rick
"Well aren't you always prepared?" I say to Rick
He rolls his eyes and bits the circle off.
"Get down" he yells and we all run off and fall to the ground.

Wait where's Jacquie, Andrea and Dale?

I'm snapped out of my thoughts, hearing as the grenade goes off and the glass shatters.

I quickly grab all my stuff and run towards the Rv. I then sit on the cushioned chairs and duck under the table, hearing as the CDC explodes into a heap of fire.

Oh no. Andrea, Jacquie and Dale

I look up and watch as Andrea and Dale walk towards the Rv.

Yay! Their alive!

I sigh in relief and connect my headphones, listening to Christiana perri.

"Hey can I listen with you" asks Carl
I nod and scoot over as he sits next to me.
I smile slightly and put my arm by my sides.

That's when I feel something wrap around my arm and I know it's handcuffs.
