Chapter 46:

"Kevin, can you leave for a moment" i say

"Um..okay hailey" he says

I smile and kiss his forehead.

After a while i hear the door close. I immediately pull out the box from my satchel. I had to know the truth.

I stand here in shock. Looking at the pregnancy test in front of me. It was positive.

"Caiyden...why did this have to happen to you" i whisper as i walk towards his corpse

His lifeless eyes staring back at me. I don't know why but i put the pregnacy test in his hand and leave.

"Hailey? Are you okay?" asks Kevin

I nod but suddenly feel my head hurt.

"Ow" i say as another memory flashes back

Flashback

Are you okay?" Asks Carl

"Yea I'm fine but your mom doesn't look okay" I say pointing at Lori and walking towards her
"Are you okay?" I ask

"The baby's coming" she says holding on to a chain

"What!" I yell in shock

"Lori you need to push" says Maggie

"I'll try" says Lori as she starts pushing but she screams in pain and I notice the blood running down her legs.

"Somethings wrong.." I whisper feeling sick but keeping it in

"You have to cut me open" says Lori as she lays down

"What no!" I say

"Please" says Lori with pleading eyes

"No I ca-" lori cuts carl off

"Baby look at me, you will make it through this because your strong and so are you Hailey and please...protect the baby" says Lori

"No please Lori..don't. Your family to me..I can't loose you" I say as tears run down my eyes

"Hailey calm down.just take care of Carl" Lori says

I nod and turn away not wanting to see Lori die but I turn back around quickly and hug her.

"I love you" I whisper as I hug her tightly
"I love you too Hailey" says Lori hugging me back

I turn back around and look at the wall.

Then I hear carl and her say stuff to each other.

She then whispers
"Goodnight love" which hurts me more

Then I hear Lori scream loudly and feel something warm gush on my back.

I feel my self shudder and cry.

End of flashback

I look towards the boy i saw in the flashback but whoever that lady was. It hurt to hear her scream but why.

Also why did i make a promise to protect him?

Its not like i loved him or anything. He was a dog killer and i bet he would kill me or Kevin if he had the chance.

"Hailey?" says kevin

"I'm fine caiyden. It's just.." i lean into his ear "I'm pregnant" i add as i whisper it

Kevin moves away from me and looks at me.

"You can't be! How?" asks Kevin alarmingly

I shrug and walk towards Carl.

"Carl, how'd you find us?" i ask

"My dad's not doing well and we saw this and came. Its been a few days" carl answers

"Listen, me and Caiyden got in a car accident and some how he got killed because of it but as for me. I can't remember a single thing. Except you and kevin" i say

Carl extends his arms towards me but i don't feel i should but i do.

"Carl, I remember a lady named Lori. Who was she?" i ask

Carl suddenly pulls away and walks into the room where Caiyden was.

Did i just touch a sensitive subject?

I didn't know but kevin just stood there confused.

"Come on, let's go check on the guy" i say as i walk down stairs and look at the poor beaten man
