Three Dixon's

Chapter 56:

I went into my house and immediately sat down. The pain in my ankle was excruciating but i had to deal with it.

"Must be nice to be vulnerable" says a voice

I turn my head towards the voice and I see the one who died..he's covered in blood.

I scream loudly at the sight of Caiyden.

"Where's kevin?" he asks

"K-kevin?" I question the sudden memory of the tiny boy appears in my head

"Don't tell me you forgot about him? He might just be dead because of you" says Caiyden

I grow worried but I start shouting.

"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" I shout as I plug my ears and close my eyes.

Tears stream down my face as I remember Caiydens creamy eyes staring at me lifelessly. Craving the meat in my body. Wanting to sink his teeth into my skin. Wanting to eat me alive in pain. The thought causes me to shudder. As I lay down and sob myself to sleep

3 days later...

I just used my crutches as I made my way towards the gate. That was the only thing I took care of now since I'm a better shot then a lot of people...despite my leg.

"You can take care of it right?" asks a guy who's name I forgot

I nod and take the gun as I sit down.

"Remember Aaron said he'll come today so be ready to receive him." says the guy

I nod and take the keys from the man as he walks away tiredly. He's been on watch since last night.

I smile as people walk around. The pain in my ankle still unbearable.

"Hey Hailey" says Jessie as she walks by smiling, Sam in holding her hands.

Sam raises his hand, right where the A lies. I raise mine too and so does Jessie. We all smile as I load the gun which wasn't even ready.

I stand there as I stand against the wall. The sound of conversations around.

These people were weak. They only worried about things from before the apocalypse due this sanctuary going up before everything. They don't know the pain of losing someone. They don't know what I've been through. What I've had to do.

*knock*

The sound of someone hitting the gates alarms me.

I look up at the guard tower and get an okay.

"Thanks" I shout as I open the fenced area. When I see the people in front of me everything around me disappears. There stands the little boy I missed oh so much. The boy I forgot about for so long.

"Oh hello" I keep a settle voice as I remember my new hair due "Welcome to Alexandria" I add

I notice Aaron.

"Oh hey Aaron" I say as I open the gates. The tightness still in my chest. They somehow made it here.
I shudder as I open the gates and allow them in.

I let everyone deal with it as I close the gates and use my crutches to leave. Not wanting to see them as I headed to my house.

"Hai-" I heard someone start to shout my name but I was already inside as I locked the door and put my back towards the door. Leaning on it as I slid to the ground, tears filling my eyes again.

Why couldn't I run away from them.
