Chapter 43:

Haileys pov

I stare at the road in front of me when a memory suddenly appears in my head.

Flashback.

"Come on hailey!" shouts kevin as i arm wrestle Caiyden for amusement

"I am!" i shout as caiydens about to bring me down

"Wow your weak" says caiyden as i'm close to touching the table

That ticks me off so i finally put all my force and bring caiydens hand down.

"Dang. You redeemed yourself" says caiyden

"Dont under estimate a Dixon" i say

Caiyden smirks and starts to lean when we heared gunshots in the other cell.

It was scary and we had to stay in a cell all alone with kevin that day.

End of flashback.

"Hailey?"

The voice brings me back when i suddenly feel tears and notice my vision blurr.

I stop the car abruptly as i start to sob.

"Hailey? Are you okay?" asks Caiyden

"I-i cant drive. I miss kevin so much. If i lose him then i- i don't caiyden...what if he's-" he cuts me off

"Hailey, calm down. H-he's still alive" says caiyden

I start to sob.

"Let me drive" says Caiyden as he gets out

I get out and go into the passengers side as i wipe my tears away.

Caiyden starts driving.

We drive until its night and decide to crash at a pharmacy.

I stand in an aisle while i clear the area but i suddenly hear something crash.

I remember caiydens at the car because i insisted but something else falls and snaps me from my thought.

I walk towards the noise and see a walker eating something.

I curiously walk towards the body. Feeling frightened to the bone at what it might be.

I shoot the walker down as i get closer to the child like body.

I sigh in relief. Thankful that it wasnt Kevin.

We did it again that night but i wasnt fully into it but i don't know.

I ignore the feeling biting at me to check the sign at terminus.

"We should go to terminus" says caiyden as he finally breaks the silence between us.

"I don't know. Maybe we should stop at the day care we passed" i say as i feel sick to my stomach

"Are you okay?" asks Caiyden

"I'm fine but we should go" i say as i grip the cushion opposite side of Caiyden

"Are you sure?" asks Caiyden

"How long has it been since the prison" i ask as i feel myself start to sweat

"Like a few months why?" asks caiyden

My thoughts go to caiyden and carl.

"Oh no" i whisper as i think the worst of it

Caiyden looks at me.

Everythings quiet from my perspective but everything suddenly shakes and i black out.
