Chapter 58:

I'm showing an old picture but just imagine Hailey back to back with Daryl. Also imagine Kevin being somewhere in the back next to Caiyden.
***************************************I stand tall as I get out of my house.

"Hey ha-" Charlotte stops when she sees me.

"Call me Red please. I know they're here but I don't want them to know its me" I say as I grab her arm.

She nods and I smile.

"Thank you for being so nice even when I was a douche" I say as I look her in the eyes.

She turns slightly red as she seems to get closer. This time I allow her as she plants a kiss on my lips. Making my cheeks turn red like my hair.

"Okay" says Charlotte as she lets go and walks down the road.

I nod and turn away as i hop away.

Suddenly someone bumps into me and I fall back only to hurt my bum.

"Shit! Sorry!" says the little boy

I'm about to get angry but the boy is someone I know. Kevin.

"No..no it's fine" I struggle to speak as tears seem to fill my eyes.

"Ma'am are you okay. You look like your going to cry and your ankle looks hurt." says Kevin who seems unchanged from being out there.

"I'm fine" I start to get up, using both my legs to get up only to make me whimper in pain. Kevin gets close to me and puts one of my arms on his shoulder.

I take it off though and pick up my crutches.

"It's fine okay?" I say as I balance myself

Kevin nods as he seems to change character.

"Watch where your going next time" he whispers into my ear threatingly as he walks off.

I stand there in shock at how he threatened me. I was completely wrong. The world did change him and without me it must have been worse....sudden tears pour out of my eyes as I again go back towards my house not wanting anyone to see me like this.

Kevin's pov
Time frame: after Kevin threatened Hailey.

I turn around and look at the lady

She seemed so familiar as if she was..

'No!' shouts my head as I keep walking but i turn around again.

"She died! They told you!" shouts my head again as I keep walking this time not turning back.

"Remember they told you she died to those cannibals from terminus. They said they even saw her remaining things" says my head as I remember the satchel of her old things I carry now.

I sigh and sit down on one of the porches as I rummage through it.

A picture of everyone together I kept in there is what I first pull out. The sight of my brother makes tears fill my eyes.

"They died protecting you" says my head

"But they died loving you" says my heart which kept me fighting on.

This was the world now. Fight fight fight. That's what Hailey said. You keep fighting for your life even if it means killing other people in the process.

The blood in my hands gave me guilt but I ignored it despite the guilt. I knew that no matter what Hailey would be proud of me because she loved me and showed me how to fight but what was sad was she was pregnant. And what was even more surprising was that the lady seemed to have a bump but she didn't seem to notice...maybe she was just fat. Too much food gets to you too.
