Chapter 9💍

Kyianna's POV

I wasn’t in the mood, plus, I could tell he was tired too.

Nakita ko sa mga mata niya ang pagod, something deeper than just physical exhaustion. It was as if he was carrying the weight of something heavy, but we didn’t have the time to talk about it anymore.

Cyrielle also mentioned she couldn’t come with us dahil may kailangan siyang bilhin for her demo on Friday, kaya napagpasyahan kong umuwi mag-isa.

As I started walking, masyadong tahimik ang daan.

I could almost feel my heartbeat growing louder with every step. I didn’t usually feel this way.

I was used to walking alone, sanay na ako sa mga ganitong oras. But tonight felt different, like something was lurking just out of sight.

I turned a corner—and boom. A group of guys drinking on the side of the street. The smell of cheap alcohol mixed with cigarette smoke filled the air, making me pause for a second.

Napansin agad ako ng isa sa kanila. His eyes locked on me, and with a twisted grin, he whistled. Napabilis ang hakbang ko, but I could hear them talking, laughing.

Their voices felt like they were echoing inside my head, every word sending a chill down my spine. I glanced back—and my heart dropped.

"Hi miss, san ka pupunta?" tanong niya, voice dripping with malice, as he quickened his pace to match mine.

His grin widened as if he was enjoying the fear in my eyes.

Hindi ko siya sinagot. My throat was dry, and I could feel my hands shaking.

I kept walking faster, almost running now. Pero hindi niya ako tinigilan. The street felt like it was closing in on me.

Nakorner ako sa isang dead-end alley, and I could see the sick pleasure in his eyes as he approached me slowly.

"Please, wag mo akong saktan," I begged, my voice barely a whisper, tears streaming down my face. My whole body was trembling now, and I pressed my back against the wall, wishing I could disappear.

"Don't worry, baby girl. Sandali lang 'to, promise," he sneered, getting closer, the smell of alcohol clinging to him. His hand reached out towards me.

But then, out of nowhere—BANG. His eyes rolled back as he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

I gasped, my mind barely processing what had just happened.

"G-Gab?" I whispered in shock, my voice shaky. My vision was still blurry from the tears, but there he was—Gabriel Hawthorne. His broad figure stood like a shield between me and the man on the ground.

"Ayos ka lang ba?" tanong niya, kalmado pero halata ang concern sa boses niya habang iniabot niya ang kamay niya sa akin.

His voice was soothing, but his eyes were sharp, scanning the alley as if expecting more danger.

"H-Hindi ko alam," sagot ko, trying to steady my breathing. My knees felt weak, and it was only then that I realized they were bleeding.

"Alam mo namang delikado maglakad mag-isa. Bakit hindi mo pinasama si Luhence?" he asked, frowning, his voice laced with frustration.
