Chapter 14 💍
Kyianna’s Point of View
“Let’s eat. I’m starving” sabi ni Luhence, tugging me toward this fancy restaurant with that annoyingly charming grin on his face.
Alam kong hindi ito planado, but he walked as if he’d booked the whole place just for us.
As he ordered, I raised an eyebrow at his choices—Swiss roll, blueberry cheesecake, mocha, latte, plus some kind of pasta na hindi ko man lang alam paano i-pronounce. Sweets and coffee overload, pero chill na chill lang siya. Sanay yata si mister fiancé sa ganitong lifestyle.
“Alam mo, this isn’t even an actual date,” I teased, crossing my arms but unable to hide my smirk.
He chuckled, looking amused.
“What? Can’t a guy treat his ‘fiancée’ to a nice meal?”
“Hindi naman kailangan ng ganito ka-bongga,” I replied, rolling my eyes, though I couldn’t deny the flutter of excitement at the thought of being pampered, kahit na fake lang ito.
He leaned closer, his voice soft yet playful.
“Oh, so you like simple dates, huh?”
Caught off-guard, I hesitated.
“H-Hindi naman sa ganun,” I muttered, cheeks warming a little.
“It’s just…weird.”
He raised an eyebrow, still with that smirk on his face.
“Weird that you’re actually enjoying it?”
“Sus, hindi nga!” I shot back, pretending to play it cool.
“Ikaw kasi, bigla ka na lang nanlilibre ng ganito. Masyado kang effort.”
He chuckled, taking a sip of his latte with a casual shrug.
“I’m just playing my role, Kyianna. If I’m going to be your fiancé, I might as well look convincing, right?”
“Effort mo naman,” I mumbled, raising an eyebrow at him.
“Baka hindi ka lang sanay sa ganitong treatment?” he added, his voice dropping a notch, making it sound almost… affectionate?
“Baliw ka talaga,” I said, laughing as I tried to brush off that weird flutter in my chest.
“Gastos ka nang gastos. Bakit, marami ka bang pera? Bili ka na lang ng girlfriend sa Lazada.”
He laughed, a sound that was surprisingly warm, his gaze lingering on me just a second too long.
“Lazada doesn’t sell girlfriends like you, Kyianna,” he replied, his voice soft, almost as if he meant it.
The air shifted between us, and I felt my face heating up, unsure of what to say. Then, his phone buzzed, and he excused himself to take the call.
Taking the chance, I pulled out my own phone and checked my messages. Ayun na nga, may chat from Cyrielle sa Instagram. I opened it and saw a screenshot—ako at si Luhence, caught mid-laughter.
“Woi! Ano tong pinagkakalat mo?!” Cyrielle’s message read, followed by laughing emojis.
My cheeks warmed even more as I quickly typed a reply.
“Wala ‘to! Hindi date, okay?” Kahit ako mismo, di ko sigurado sa nararamdaman ko. We’re just pretending, right? That’s all.
When Luhence returned, he looked at me with that familiar, teasing look.
