Chapter 18💍
Kyianna POV
Buong linggo kong iniwasan si Luhence, but now there was no escaping him.
Sa una, I thought it was too elegant for me, with silver beading tracing the neckline and sleeves, and a daring slit down one side.
I paired it with silver stilettos that gave me an added lift. Light and natural lang ang makeup ko, pero ang lipstick ko ay may soft red shade that completed my look.
I caught staring at myself in the mirror, I felt... powerful. But then the nerves hit. Was this really enough to stand by his side?
“Finally,” he greeted, his tone carrying that familiar smirk. “You ready, sisiw?”
I crossed my arms, rolling my eyes. “Akala ko ba sabi mo nagmamadali ka?”
“I am,” he replied, amusement in his eyes.
“You just happened to take your time.”
Hindi mawala ‘yung teasing na ngisi niya, as if he enjoyed how flustered I was.
“Please, wala akong ginawang masama rito.”
“Right. If that’s what you want me to think, sisiw,” Luhence teased, moving in just close enough that I could feel his breath.
“But you’ve been keeping your distance for the past four days. We both know why.”
My heart pounded as his words sank in. He didn’t know. He couldn’t. I forced a smirk, hoping it looked more convincing than I felt.
“Oh, really? And what do you think I’m avoiding, huh?”
He leaned closer, his gaze piercing through me, like he was trying to peel back the layers I’d built up.
“Come on, sisiw. You can act tough, but something’s on your mind. Something you’re hiding.”
I tried to keep my face blank, but Cassy’s words kept replaying in my head, twisting around my thoughts.
“You think he actually wants you? Girls like you? He’s just playing nice. But trust me, he’ll always come back to me.”
I swallowed, looking away just enough to break his intense gaze.
