Episode 5: Reality over Fantasy

Surprisingly, I got a lot of rest and didn't feel tired waking up. Getting a quick shower in before going to the lobby to talk with my party and Mary.

I'm still curious on why Mary doesn't want to join in my party yet... I'll have to ask her later.

When I entered the lobby, I only saw Cloud and Mary.

(Y/N): Morning.

Cloud: Morning Biki!

...Huh? Biki? Probably a nickname she came up with.

Mary: Good morning hero. Did you sleep well?

(Y/N): Yeah, better then yesterday.

I sat with them before asking my question.

(Y/N): Hey Cloud, did you see Malty this morning?

Cloud: Malt? Nope. Cloud didn't see her. Malt probably got up early.

She probably did. Well, guess there's nothing I can do about it.

Cloud: What are we doing today Biki?

Hibiki: Well, I want to check that Alchemy shop. Last time we went, no one was there.

Cloud: Ouuuhh~! Could Cloud get a magic trinket?

(Y/N): Only if you're good while we're there.

I stand up and stretch before the three of us leave. Guess Mary didn't have any objections.

When we reach the shop, the bell over the door rang, which it didn't before...I think.

???: Welcome! Welcome!

The person was covered in a cloak. If I remember correctly, this is a friend of Malty.

???: How many I help you, travelers?

(Y/N): Oh, well we just came to look around a bit.

???: Alrighty! Just let me know if you need help!

I nod before seeing Cloud holding herself back.

(Y/N): Alright Cloud. You may look for one thing you want. Okay?

She nods rapidly before taking a more liquid form to slide around quickly.

???: Wow! She's an energetic one.

(Y/N): Tell me about it.

I walk up to the counter and wait for Cloud to get done.

Mary: I would like to look around as well. Is that alright hero?

(Y/N): Of course. Cloud might be a while anyway.

Mary nods before going to look around.

???: Ah, your a hero? One of the legendary heroes?

(Y/N): I guess so. I don't feel much like a hero.

She nods....or I think she does by her hood movements.

???: I see. So they are part of your party?

(Y/N): Yeah. Although, one of them isn't with us at the moment. Her name is Malty.

I hear them gasp. I can feel their eyes staring me down.

???: Give me just a moment.

(Y/N): Take your time.

She rushed through a door behind the counter. Mary and Cloud are still looking around. Guess I could see what's around as well while I wait.
