Chapter 60: Swimming and Sand Castles

Error's POV, a few days later

"Hey, look! My sand castle is still here!"Horror cheers, eagerly running to his sand castle.

He crawls inside it happily.

"That's amazing!"Killer says

"WoOw!"I say with a smile

"It has all the marks I left on it!"He cheers from inside

"How the fuck is that still here? The tides or somebody should've wiped it o-mmph!"Dust begins, getting a hand over his mouth and a jab in his side.

"Sssshhhh, just let him have his moment."Killer says

"Yea! He's happy! Let him enjoy it!"Blue says

"Okay..."Dust sighs

"Hey, Farm! Come check it out! I am going to update it now!"Horror says

"Alright."Farm says, crawling through the entrance.

Paps totally didn't put a barrier around it to preserve Horror's hard work...

I smile, noticing the circle marked in the sand around the sand castle that Paps made before we left last time. I glance over,  seeing Killer set up an umbrella to shade himself and Outer, Dust soon doing the same beside Blue. I already have umbrellas and towels set up for Nighty, Misty, Perl, and I, as well as ensuring that others are set up correctly. Everyone starts to enjoy themselves, this being the first time that our friends/boyfriends have joined our beach day.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?"Dream asks

Nighty nods.

"It's good to have a nice day with everyone instead of worrying about what could go wrong."He says with a shrug.

"PlUs tHer3 iSn'T mUch t0 f3ar...At l3aSt wHeN iT c0mEs t0 RomAnCia wHo hAs bEeN tHe bIgGEsT PaIn sO fAr d3sPiTe faiLiNg tWic3 aLrEaDy."I say

"Now why do I sense a pattern here? The...entity of romance failing to ruin a romance?"Dream says

Nighty chuckles.

"Yeah, that'd be like Killer trying to be peaceful for a week. It just wouldn't work out."He says while I put sunscreen on.

He notices and tilts his head.

"Why are you putting that on, Glitchy?"He asks

"Bones get sunburn too, Brother. I guess that's one of the perks of being covered in goop."Dream says

I smile, then walk over to the giant sand castle, peeking in to see Horror giving Farm the entire tale behind his own hieroglyphics. They look so happy. I glance over, seeing that a group has started playing volleyball. That being Cross, Killer, Outer, and Dust. Blue is chatting with Paps while Dream talks with Nighty. Fell and Classic are just relaxing under an umbrella, watching this all unfold.

"Hey Dad, you ready to give the water a go?"Horror asks as he climbs out of his castle.

I nod as Farmer exits to grab some snacks, though chuckles when saying that knowing what Horror considers a "snack". I chuckle, winking at him to show that I know what he means, then Horror walks with me to the water. He takes me by the hand and starts walking me into the water after making sure the waves aren't going to be that rough for the next hour. We make it up to my ribs in water while it is barely up to Horror's waist. We start with simple stuff like floating and kicking to keep above water when too deep. It's just to readjust to the water. I can work on my swimming skills later, I just don't want to be rusty and using floaties all the time.

It goes well and Horror gives me tips and was very careful when it came to holding my arm to guide me for something. We gradually went into deeper water as I showed more strength with swimming. Then the entire volleyball pauses, glancing over to us.

"Horror what are you doing with Error?"Dust asks

"Hey! That's Nightmare's line!"Killer chuckles

"Helping him readjust to swimming to answer your question."Horror says

I nod, reassuring them.

"Wait, where is Nightmare?"Dream wonders, glancing over from his position of admiring the sand castle

Nobody could spot Nighty anywhere. He suddenly disappeared.

"Maybe he went to grab something like Farm did."Horror says, resuming his lesson with me

I smile, continuing the lesson. Then I see something darker underwater getting closer. And then I feel a familiar goop tickle my foot. Then it grabs my foot, tugging it suddenly that Horror had to grab me to prevent me from going under.

"FoUnD hIm!"I say, reaching down to grab his arm.

He surfaces from underwater, glancing at me in surprise.

"Is something wrong?"He asks 

"WeRe yOu rEaLlY sNeAkInG uP oN uS?"I ask

"Nooo, why?"He replies

"You weren't exactly subtle underwater."Horror says

"OnE oF yOuR tEntAcLes nEaRlY tOoK mE dOwN wItH yOU."I say, shaking my head.

He hugs me with a frown.

"Sorry, Glitchy."He says, swimming back to the sand.

"He doesn't look happy."Horror says

"ThAt tEnTaClE iS dOoMeD."I chuckle

"He punishes his own tentacles?"He asks

"YeAh, s0mEtImEs tHeY aCt On tHeIr oWn iMpUlSe."I say, watching as he forces a tentacle to bury itself in sand.

I shake my head as Horror chuckles.

Oh Nighty...

"I'm back!"Farm says

Horror smiles, his soul pounding in his chest visibly at the sight of Farmer. His beloved Farmer.

"I have a question, Dad...."He says as we get out of the water.

"YeS?"I say

"Where exactly were you the other day? You haven't really spoken about it since you came back or the photos. And the teasing comments to Killer and Dust. And we didn't have much time to talk about it since Mom snatched you away moments later."He says

Nighty chuckles at this, obviously having no regrets about holding me hostage in bed for three days straight to cuddle.

"WeLl, RoMaNciA iS tRyInG t0 pRoVe tHaT nOt ALl l0ve lAsTs f0r3ver, iNclUdInG mInE. FiRsT aTtEmPt aT bReAkInG uS uP wAs uSiNg fLoWeRs To sPrEaD sOmE lOvE aRoMa aNd AtTraCt pEoPlE tHaT BEcAmE wAY to0 fLiRtY oR tOuChY. SeCoNd AttEmPt WaS tO tAkE mE t0 a fUtUrE wHeRe wE aRe d1v0rCeD, bUt I lAnDeD iN a diFfErEnT fUtUrE tHan iNtEnDeD. I wAs sTuCk ThErE uNtiL DeStIniA brOuGhT mE hOme."I explain

"Are you alright?"He asks

"Were you harmed, Dad?"Killer asks, sitting beside me as we gather to eat.

"NoPe. QuItE tHe opPoSiTe. NoThInG tO wOrRy AbOuT."I say as we dig in after thanking Farmer.

Once we finish eating, everyone goes to do their own activities and Nighty resumes drowning his misbehaving tentacle in sand, something it hates. It's an odd, yet funny sight.

Then I notice an odd light from Horror's sand castle. I glance around, seeming to be the only one that noticed it. Everyone is accounted for so nobody in our group is in there to cause it. I shake my head, remembering the last surprise that occupied the sand castle.

Not this again....I better go handle it...

I go to the huge sand castle and crawl into the entrance. I glance around for the source of the strange light that was shining out from it, only to be met with four pairs of eyes staring back at me, shining brightly in the dim interior of the castle as the only light comes from the entrance.

I recognize these eyes just as much as they recognize me.

How the hell...?

"GRAMPS!"They cheer, knocking me down in a hug.
