Dark clouds cruised the sky, not easing up even a bit. Thunder could occasionally be heard in the distance. You sighed and pulled the curtains close, going to sit at the table as your grandma was just finishing preparing the dinner. You plopped down on the chair with another sigh, your grandpa looking at you over the newspaper in his hands.

"That's an awfully big sigh," he noticed and you nodded, a pout lingering on your lips.

"I just don't get it - it was all sunny yesterday. Where did all these clouds come from?" you commented, pulling up your plate for Grandma to pour you some delicious steaming curry.

"Did you have any plans outside?" Grandma asked, pouring the grandpa some curry too.

You shook your head, "No, I just hate gloomy weather. Makes me wanna sleep for the whole day."

Your grandparents laughed, starting their dinner. You took a spoonful of rice and added it to your curry.

"Not that I don't like sleeping..." you corrected yourself, "I just..."

"Still have that fear of thunder, I see..." your grandpa tilted his glasses to look at you and you twisted your lips, ashamed of your childish fear.

"Do you want to sleep with your granny for the night?" Grandma asked and you dropped your spoon, feeling your cheeks blushing.

"I'm not a kid anymore! Stop babying me!" you blushed more and they laughed, "Besides, I got a perfect solution. Whenever there's a thunderstorm going on, I sleep with my headphones on and the music saves me," you explained proudly and your grandparents smiled, ushering you to finish your dinner and go to bed before the storm gets bigger.

You bid your grandparents goodnight and went to your room after your shower, coming into the guest room they kept tidy for you. You loved visiting them during your holidays and school breaks and since you had some free days, having finished all your October exams, you decided to spend these autumn days in the countryside. And while many went to over-the-top Halloween parties, you wanted to spend this much-needed break peacefully, relaxing in the village, eating grandma's homemade food, and breathing fresh air.

Your grandparents went to bed rather early but you stayed up a bit more, watching a movie on your phone. Your dark room lit up for a moment and you took off your headphones, realizing that the storm was approaching. A shiver ran down your spine and you turned off the movie, quickly selecting your "thunderstorm emergency" playlist. The calming melody filled your ears instantly and you relaxed, going under thick covers after putting your "thunderstorm protective" face mask over your eyes. You fell asleep at the end of the second song.

The storm was approaching yet there was no rain, only thunder and lightning striking every two seconds, making the electricity go out. A white wooden entrance door clicked open and four figures came into the small house. Four men tiptoed through the house even though their footsteps couldn't naturally be heard even if they walked normally. They passed the small hallway, the mirror on the wall not reflecting their forms. Another thunder struck and they shushed each other even though they weren't making a sound. The four men agreed to split, going to different rooms of the house. Yet these silly young men somehow all ended up in the kitchen and they reached for the fridge right away.
