Wanting to spend the holiday season anywhere but with your families, you and the girls from your friend group agreed on the craziest idea ever - travel to the other side of the world aka to the country "down under". Because how else would four girls in their early twenties spend the last two weeks of the year? Definitely not by watching Hallmark Christmas movies with mom or end-of-the-year music shows with Grandma! It was safe to say that your parents were shocked when hearing your idea but, as long as you were spending your own money, all they cared about is you traveling and arriving in Australia safely.

Spending Christmas in Australia was fun - going to the beach, building a "sandman" instead of a snowman, sending your family pics of you in a bikini, relaxing and sunbathing in the warm weather while they were "freezing to the bone" in the northern hemisphere.

And now that Christmas has passed, you and your friends had to plan how will you spend the grandiose welcome of the New Year. All of you agreed that you didn't want to spend it in the hotel even though the facility was holding a New Year's Eve party.

"We're definitely going to the beach," said Anita, a blonde, slim, and tall girl, your Norwegian best friend who was part of your school's student transfer program.

You smiled at her excitement because, as someone who lived in the cold their whole life, Anita wanted to spend every minute outside and on the beach, running around like an excited puppy.

"What do you guys think?" you turned your head to the bed beside yours where twin girls sat. You could see that they were deep in thought, the gears in their heads turning.

Yuko and Yoko were identical twin girls, short in height and also part of the exchange program, who had the most trouble convincing their strict Japanese parents to let them go on this trip. They loved the beach but were extremely shy to wear revealing swimsuits. And, unlike Anita, they were introverts who'd rather spend time indoors.

"Oh, I see that the Ishikawa twins still didn't loosen up," Anita chuckled and came onto the bed between shy and quiet Japanese girls, putting her arms around their shoulders, "We won't get nakey this time..."

"We weren't naked in the first place!" you scolded your best friend but Anita just smirked and shrugged her shoulders, returning to speak to the twins.

"We'll dress up nicely and go fishing," her smirk widened and you sighed, facepalming.

Yuko looked at her, obviously confused, "Why would we need to dress up nicely if we're going fishing?"

"Oh, you sweet innocent soul..." you sighed and gave the confused girl a half-smile.

Anita laughed aloud and hopped off of the bed, going to her part of the wardrobe. After some minutes of rummaging through her clothes, she turned, hands on her hips and a frown on her face.

"I have nothing to wear!" she exclaimed and you opened your mouth to speak, as she clearly had more clothes than all three of you combined, but the blonde was quicker, "To the mall!"

You let out a tired groan as you and the twins followed Anita to yet another clothing store bustling with girls who were on last-minute search for dresses they'd wear at their New Year's parties.

The blonde and tall Norwegian girl almost got into a fight with a local for a sequin dress but her Scandinavian politeness made her let go of the sparkly piece and grab a random satin one. She observed the dress for some time and her face showed dislike of the fabric but then Anita gasped and screamed your name, running to you.

"Girl, this dress has your name on it. You have to buy it!" she tiptoed in place, stomping like an excited puppy... yet again.

You rolled your eyes, "Anita, I already have a cocktail dress that I'll wear tonight."
