Post-apocalyptical Earth.
Ghost towns have been emerging all over the planet, one after another as the wave of darkness spread across all continents over the years. And that all happened because the colossal electric powerplants started exploding one after another... and humans were the cause of that, just like any other abnormality that happened on the planet.
Humans were greedy creatures, chasing the money and power that basically had no value and meaning to them once they died. Yet, there has always been a certain patriarchy, a certain system with a person in power on top and the mere humans on the bottom. And those people in power said: "More power!", despite the warnings from the academics that more power could be destructible.
They, of course, didn't listen. They required more manpower and long hours in the dangerous, inhuman conditions so that they could thrive in money by selling electricity. And even after the first massive explosion, they didn't learn. They didn't stop until the very last electrical powerplant died, leaving the whole planet to perish in darkness.
Those in power flew first, of course. The big "space hotel" was just waiting for them to take off, leaving common people "down there". Wealthy were now living in space while others fought for their lives on deserted planet Earth. It is only natural to say that people were angry.
The population was soon cut in half because pollution led to numerous diseases that couldn't be cured because there was lack of medicine, which ultimately led to death. Deaths by sickness followed death by hunger were the most common but a new "type" of deaths started happening a year after the wealthy left the planet - people would just disappear into thin air. They would be on their deathbeds in one moment and in the next evaporate like a cloud of dust, leaving no traces of any part of them, even clothes.
But some people found the answer to that - it was sadness. People would just fall, overwhelmed by suffocating sadness wrapping their hearts and die. Sometimes they'd disappear in a day or two but sometimes they would suffer for months. But those sad souls didn't rest - they roamed around the Earth aimlessly and, even though there were those who didn't believe, those ghosts haunted anyone and everyone on the planet.
People were scared, but not all lived in fear - there were those who decided to confront the disturbed souls and find a way to help them rest.
Some of those brave people were Bang Chan and his seven friends who currently walked just outside the once large metropolitan city. They watched the ruins they were passing by, some of the guys thinking or imagining how it was to live in those high skyscrapers. All eight of these young men carried big backpacks filled with necessities, foods, and material they gathered in the previous area.
Bang Chan stopped for a moment to glance at the destroyed city before continuing his walk, a thought about the possible luxurious life in the city crossing his mind. But, he didn't have the time to think much about it - past was in the past - they needed to assure their survival and future.
The eight men entered an area with rather new buildings and cars around. However, there were no people...
"Just when I thought we'd find someone, we stumble upon another ghost town," Jeongin sighed, looking around.
